Jersey Shore may have starred guidos and guidettes, but the roommates had plenty of interactions with people summering in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Many of these sub-characters became known in their own right — for both good and bad reasons.

Find out which sub-character Jenni “JWoww” Farley wishes she had spent more time with on the show.

The ‘Jersey Shore’ roommates were always making friends

Filming a reality series in Seaside Heights garnered a lot of attention for the Jersey Shore cast.

Sometimes, people simply wanted to say hello to their favorite roommates. Unfortunately, most of the time, passersby were looking to start a fight.

“When drunk people saw the cameras, it was a very hostile experience,” Guadagnino explained to Vulture. “We almost got into fights every single night we went out. It’s amazing to think about — wouldn’t you not want to fight with a person in front of a camera?”

One of the most memorable altercations from the series was also one of the most horrific.

‘Snooki’ took a punch to the face

During Jersey Shore‘s first season, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was hit in the face by drunk bar patron Brad Ferro. The former gym teacher was visibly intoxicated, as captured by MTV cameras.

When he mistook Polizzi’s shots for his own, she confronted him. He then punched Polizzi in the jaw. As her roommates swarmed to help Polizzi, the cops were called.

“[There was] a verbal altercation after which [Ferro] struck [Polizzi] in the face,” Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman told the New York Post. “She sustained an injury to the inside of her mouth due to the punch.”

Ferro was arrested on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

Brad Ferro’s attack united the cast of ‘Jersey Shore’

As tragic as Polizzi getting hit was, the assault brought the Jersey Shore roommates closer together.

Prior to that, Polizzi felt like an outsider in the house. When she arrived at Danny Merk’s shore home, she made a poor first impression on her roommates.

That all changed when Polizzi was hit in the face. Her past behavior was forgotten when she was attacked. Pauly DelVecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Guadagnino followed Ferro and the cops out of the bar in defense of their roommate.

Meanwhile, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Jenni “JWoww” Farley tended to Polizzi’s bleeding mouth in the bathroom of the bar.

After that night, the roommates held Polizzi in high regard. She was no longer an outsider — she was part of the family.

Jenni wanted ‘more time’ to deal with Brad Ferro’s actions

A reality television account on Twitter recently shared a video of that infamous night at the bar.

One fan replied to the tweet, writing: “But why was Jenni the first person to sock him while all those men were around? Every female needs a [“JWoww”] in their life.”

Farley took notice of this tweet and expressed her desire for more time with Ferro.

The night Polizzi was punched, Farley reacted the quickest to the situation, reaching over Polizzi to strike Ferro. Had she been given more time with him, who knows what might have happened.
