Jennifer Aniston Reportedly Cried When Katy Perry Asked Her to Be Her Daughter’s Godmother
It seems Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s daughter may end up with a famous godmother. According to reports, Perry asked Jennifer Aniston to be the godmother to her unborn child. With famous parents and a famous godparent, Perry’s daughter would truly be living the superstar life.
Katy Perry asked Jennifer Aniston to be the godmother
While it might seem surprising that Perry allegedly picked Aniston to be the godmother, the two have been friends for years and apparently became closer throughout Perry’s pregnancy.
“Katy and Jen are very close. During lockdown they went for socially distanced walks, and spent lots of time catching up,” a source told The Daily Mirror.
According to the source, Aniston was touched that Perry and Bloom asked her to be the child’s godmother.
“She is pretty chuffed about it as well and cried when they asked her,” said the source.

Katy Perry’s pregnancy was planned
Perry and Bloom first began dating in 2016, but they broke up sometime in 2017. The two reconnected and became engaged on Feb. 14, 2019. They announced they were expecting their first child together in March 2020 in the music video for Perry’s single “Never Worn White.”
During an interview on SiriusXM, Perry opened up about her pregnancy.
“Well, it wasn’t an accident. It was like, you know, I’m so grateful for everything that I have been able to do and achieve and all the goals I’ve been able to kinda check off my list, and dreams, in the life I’ve lived thus far,” she said. “I think I’ve just been trying to create this space in my own life where I’m not running myself too ragged and, like, creating space for something new to happen like this. I think we were both looking forward to this new interval of life, you know, and sharing this so that’s kind of how it happens, you know.”
Since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Bloom and Perry have been quarantined together. Perry told Cosmopolitan that despite living together during these times they work to give each other space.
“He’s being very sensitive, knowing that we’re not only in quarantine but we’re doing it while pregnant,” she told the publication. “He’s also doing a lot of pro-style cycling for a couple hours a day, so that gives me my space.”
How Jennifer Aniston is spending quarantine
In addition to spending time with Perry, a source told Us Weekly Aniston has spent her time in quarantine doing her own personal writing and preparing for Season 2 of The Morning Show. Aniston both stars in the show and produces it alongside Reese Witherspoon.
Aniston has also encouraged people to look out for each other during the pandemic, and on June 30 she published an Instagram post encouraging others to wear masks.
“I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable. But don’t you feel that it’s worse that businesses are shutting down… jobs are being lost… health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion. And so many lives have been taken by this virus because we aren’t doing enough,” she wrote.
Aniston continued, “I really do believe in the basic goodness of people so I know we can all do this BUT still, there are many people in our country refusing to take the necessary steps to flatten the curve, and keep each other safe. People seem worried about their ‘rights being taken away’ by being asked to wear a mask. This simple and effective recommendation is being politicized at the expense of peoples’ lives. And it really shouldn’t be a debate.”
