“Even though Ben and Jen have been split for a while now, he feels a certain level of comfort with her,” an insider told Page Six after Thanksgiving. “Ben has a strong relationship with Jen that will never dissipate because they have a lot of history together and she’s the mother of his kids.”
Garner is aware of the rumors circling through the media that suggest the exes might be rekindling old feelings. Unfortunately, fans of Garner and Affleck should forget the idea of them ever getting back together.
“They’re not getting back together,” an insider told In Touch Weekly in January 2025. “Jen laughs off those rumors, even though that’s the Hollywood ending everyone hopes for.”
The source added that Garner is still dating John Miller, whom she’s dated since 2018, and Affleck remains supportive of their relationship. “Ben’s single and just taking life one day at a time,” the source continued. “They’re far from perfect, but Jen and Ben are a great example of how co-parenting should work.”

However, Garner’s ultra-comfortable relationship with Affleck could be a barrier for Miller. A source told Life & Style that Affleck’s “constant presence” in Garner’s life makes Miller feel “like the third wheel.”
“John has shown the patience of an absolute saint, he’s been so supportive and understanding of Jen’s situation with Ben,” the source alleged. “But at this point, even he’s hit the wall. Ben’s constant presence is very hard to take; John’s like the third wheel in his own relationship.”
Garner ramped up her support for Affleck when Affleck hit marital trouble with Jennifer Lopez in 2024. Several other insiders suggested that Garner wanted to ensure Affleck didn’t isolate or fall back into unhealthy habits as the news of his divorce proceedings hit the media.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Affleck is “leaning on” Garner as he finalizes his divorce, as they’ve “always been close … always will be. … She knows him better than anyone, and he respects her.” However, it’s nothing romantic. And Lopez knows this.
“She is the mother of his kids and has been there for him through the worst and best times,” the source continued.
As for Lopez, she is “continuing to move on” as the divorce proceedings continue.
