Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are headed for divorce, and Bennifer fans are devastated. The couple tied the knot in 2022 and called it quits two years later. Affleck’s first wife, Jennifer Garner, hasn’t commented on the divorce. However, she’s reportedly been helping Affleck process his grief. Recently, Garner had an interview about her home. She might’ve taken a subtle swipe at Affleck and Lopez’s huge Beverly Hills mansion, which they’re now trying to sell.

Jennifer Garner might’ve subtly thrown shade at Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s Beverly Hills mansion

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck ended their marriage on good terms and frequently visit each other in the Brentwood neighborhood of LA. The exes prefer quiet lives out of the spotlight, though Affleck lived in a massive mansion with Jennifer Lopez that didn’t scream subtly. Garner recently spoke to Architectural Digest about the home she built post-divorce from Affleck, and she noted that she wanted “privacy.”

“I realized that I was going to need to move out of a dream house kind of scenario,” Garner explained. “I looked and looked for a house to move into, but I needed privacy, and any house that had privacy was more grand than I felt comfortable in.”

Garner enlisted the help of Tennessee-based husband-and-wife architect and interior designer duo Steve and Brooke Giannetti to create her dream home. Steve said he wanted Garner’s home to be “a warm embrace of a house” with “soft and cozy” touches.

In a video of her house tour, Garner mentioned how she preferred her cozy library to a “huge old screening room.”

“This is everyone’s favorite place,” she said while showing off the library and couch details. “You just don’t need some huge old screening room. We’re pretty happy just being right in here. Feet go anywhere. I am so not fussy.”

Garner might have been subtly slamming her ex’s home with Jennifer Lopez. Lopez and Affleck had a large theater room in their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Not Required to Split Proceeds Evenly After Selling Mansion, Divorce Mediator Explains

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck publicly listed their mansion for sale before Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024. Unfortunately, the couple is having trouble selling their property. A real estate source told NewsNation that the couple should expect to lose money on the house, as it’s “dated” and “too big.”

“That house is actually worth between $40 and $50 million,” the insider explained. “It’s in a terrible location. Wallingford Estates is a gated community with no guard. Most homes in the area are from the 1970s and are worth between $5-10 million. This is just a huge white elephant. It’s garish, too big, and dated with amenities that are just silly and not necessary (like an indoor sports complex).”

The insider added that Affleck and Lopez have an “ugly” house. “It was built in 2001 by a mediocre developer with just bad taste in architecture. … It’s a mish-mosh of styles with a faux-French roof,” they continued.

A source said the mansion was Ben Affleck’s ‘idea’

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez no longer live in their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion. Affleck bought a $20 million home in the Brentwood neighborhood near Jennifer Garner. Lopez is reportedly looking for a new place as she and Affleck go through their divorce proceedings. A source told People it was Affleck’s “idea” to buy the overpriced mansion in the first place.

“The $68 million mansion was Ben’s idea and a major compromise for her,” the source claimed. “She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances.”

Another source claimed that Affleck never liked the mansion despite what the first source said. “It was such a pain and time-consuming for Ben to navigate traffic from their house,” the second source noted. “He never liked it.”
