Jennifer Garner once expressed uncertainty around dating again after her failed marriage to Ben Affleck. However, she found love with John Miller. The CaliGroup CEO and Garner started dating in 2018 and had an on-and-off relationship for years. In 2024, they seem to be getting more serious about their romance. However, Ben Affleck’s failing marriage to Jennifer Lopez has allegedly caused a rift between Garner and Miller.
“There have been reports that he’s been uncomfortable with the type of relationship that Ben and Jen have,” celebrity matchmaker Alessandra Conti told Fox News Digital. “And, a lot of times, in these reports, when there are anonymous sources that are coming out, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. I think we’ve learned this time and time again: where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
Conti added that it’s a “red flag” that insiders believe Miller is showing “nonsupport of the very special relationship that Ben and Jen have.”
The matchmaker noted that Garner is a “very strong woman” whom Affleck is lucky to have by his side. “So this is a woman with a very strong value system, a strong head on her shoulders,” Conti continued. “And, you know, she’s just an incredible partner. Ben is so lucky to have her.”

Jennifer Garner has appeared to help Ben Affleck with his marital troubles with Jennifer Lopez in 2024. The exes were frequently spotted together, with Affleck visiting Garner’s home. Insiders alleged that Affleck used Garner as a sounding board to deal with Lopez before Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20, 2024. An insider told DailyMail.com that Garner’s boyfriend, John Miller, felt uncomfortable with having to “share” Garner with her ex-husband.
“John doesn’t like sharing Jen, and there is a divide when it comes to her and Ben,” the insider said. “He wishes it wasn’t like that because he understands they are a family, but it gets to him like it would anyone.”
The insider added that Miller doesn’t “fear” Garner and Affleck getting back together, “but it has been tough coping with her support for Ben during his split from J.Lo.” Ultimately, Miller “is looking forward to Ben and J.Lo’s split being done so he can start focusing on Jen.”
“Both Jen and John are hoping for that. It is just going to take a little time,” the source noted. “They both want to be in a better place, but some work needs to be done.”

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck went on vacation together in August 2024 before Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce. The exes took their kids to Japan. Garner posted about the vacation on Instagram but left out any trace of Affleck in her 15 photos and clips. It doesn’t look like John Miller went with the family.
While some fans may have taken the vacation to mean that Garner and Affleck were rekindling their past flame, such is likely not the case. The exes remain good friends and co-parents for their three kids. Miller and Garner remain strong as a couple through the summer of 2024.
