Jennifer Lopez Accidentally Posted a Photo of Her With Her ‘BEN’ Necklace Before Quickly Deleting
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are proceeding with their divorce after Lopez filed the paperwork in August 2024. According to the papers, the couple’s official date of separation was listed as April 26, 2024. Lopez and Affleck had a few brief reunions at the end of the summer after spending months apart. In September 2024, Lopez seemed to accidentally post a photo of her wearing a necklace with the word “BEN” across it before immediately deleting it.

Jennifer Lopez made a mistake on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024. Her beauty brand, JLo Beauty, posted a photo of the multihyphenate in her car on Instagram, and Lopez reposted the photo to her Instagram Stories. The selfie shows Lopez smiling while wearing a nude lip color and neutral eyeshadow paired with black mascara. Lopez is also wearing several necklaces, one of which says “BEN.” The piece includes a dainty heart pendant.
Ben Affleck custom designed the gold Y-chain necklace from Foundrae. Beth Bugdaycay, the company’s co-founder and creative director, told E! News that the custom jewelry “clearly communicated” the couple’s love for each other.
“With the custom piece Ben created for Jennifer, it clearly communicated their love, but it’s also a reminder of their capacity for change and growth,” Bugdaycay said. She added that she was “blown away” by Affleck’s “romantic gesture.”
JLo Beauty quickly deleted the post once they realized that Lopez wore the “BEN” necklace in the photo. The photo itself was taken when the couple remained together. After JLo Beauty deleted the post, it disappeared from Lopez’s Instagram Stories.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are ‘still moving forward with the divorce’
Bennifer fans hoped that Jennifer Lopez’s photo of her wearing the infamous “BEN” necklace served as a sign of better days for the couple. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. A source told People that Lopez and Ben Affleck “are still moving forward with the divorce” and “continue to focus on the kids.”
“They want to show the kids that things are amicable,” the source said. “They want to stay friendly. There’s still a lot of love.”
Several days before Lopez’s posting blunder, she, Affleck, and a few of their kids were spotted at brunch at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel. Sources claimed Affleck and Lopez showed PDA while in public at the hot spot.
“Once they were together, he could not keep his hands off,” a source told Page Six. “They have always had a lot of sexual chemistry. That was not planned. They are still attracted to one another.”
While fans hoped this meant the couple planned to call off their divorce, this isn’t the case.
The exes are allegedly having ‘a hard time’ with the divorce
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez met with divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in late September 2024. Wasser helped Affleck with his divorce from Jennifer Garner. While the exes hope to move forward amicably, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that they’re allegedly having “a hard time” with the split and hope to move forward in the “most respectful way” possible. The divorce has also “been more complicated than it appears on the surface.”
All in all, Affleck and Lopez will continue to prioritize their kids. The source told ET that the couple formed bonds with their blended family and “want those relationships to stay strong.”
