Jennifer Lopez Admits She Has ‘No Definite Plans’ For Wedding to Alex Rodriguez
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez quickly became one of the celebrity world’s most talked-about power couples once they started dating in late 2016. Rodriguez proposed to Lopez earlier this year, and though the two seem very in love, it doesn’t look like they’re going to be having a wedding any time soon.
Lopez and Rodriguez dated for about two years before he proposed
The couple first met back in 2005 when Lopez attended a New York Yankees game with her then-husband, Marc Anthony. Though the two got along, there were obviously no sparks. Rodriguez was still married to his then-wife at the time, too. However, after more than 10 years and two divorces, Lopez and Rodriguez ran into each other once more outside of a restaurant in Los Angeles in late 2016. Lopez approached him to say hello, and she received a phone call later that night — he had asked her on their first date. The couple went to dinner at Hotel Bel Air; when Rodriguez took a quick bathroom break, he texted Lopez to tell her how “sexy” she looked.

The two hit it off; the second time around, there were instant sparks. From there, the romance was a runaway train. They started spending plenty of time together and eventually introduced their children to one another. Lopez and Rodriguez each have two children from their previous marriage, but they’ve blended their families beautifully to create a family of six. Both Rodriguez and Lopez reportedly get along with the other’s ex, making co-parenting a breeze. And Lopez has since said that although she’s 50, she’d like to have more kids with Rodriguez.
After a little more than two years of dating, in March 2019, Rodriguez popped the question to Lopez at sunset while the whole family was vacationing in the Bahamas. She was shocked, but she said yes with excitement.

The major question on everyone’s minds is when the two will actually tie the knot. It’s been more than six months since Rodriguez proposed, but the two have been almost mute about any wedding plans. When Rodriguez appeared on Good Day New York earlier this summer, he said he’d like an Autumn wedding, but hosts Rosanna Scotto and Lori Stokes suspected he was saying that to throw them off the couple’s trail. However, Lopez appeared on The View on September 12 and said the two have “no definite plans” lined up for a wedding right now. “We don’t have anything to give you,” she said, as far as wedding details. Lopez also mentioned that they’re taking their time.
“Alex and I are gonna get married soon,” she said later in the show, without giving any further details about when “soon” might be.
It seems that Lopez wants to take her time for a reason
Lopez said in an interview in June 2018, prior to their engagement, that the two aren’t rushing into tying the knot. Lopez has been through her share of break ups and broken marriages, and she said doesn’t want to make any more mistakes. Though she loves Rodriguez, the two are taking their time planning the wedding to make sure it is truly what they both want. However, when either of them talks about the other, they absolutely gush over each other. And their kids seem to have already formed such as strong bond.
