Jennifer Lopez is known to be very careful when it comes to her diet. But not too long ago, an insider claimed she became a bit more flexible with what she ate for the sake of Ben Affleck’s tastes.

Lopez reportedly has put in a lot of work to keep her physique indistinguishable from how it looked in her younger years. Her trainer, Tracy Anderson, gave curious fans a glimpse into Lopez’s usual meals, which are often carefully designed to help maintain her figure.

“I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing,” her trainer Tracy Anderson said once told People. “It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food.”

“Everything is fresh,” he added. “There’s nothing processed – just [protein powder] in a shake if we do a protein shake one day.”

Lopez herself has confirmed she eats a balanced diet, but it isn’t so extreme that it keeps her away from eating tastier foods.

“Throughout the years I’ve learned the importance of maintaining a healthier […] diet,” she said. “I still eat some of the foods I love, but in moderation. I don’t deprive myself.”

However, if one source is to be believed, Lopez made some major changes to her diet to fit Affleck’s lifestyle a little bit. The insider alleged that Lopez ate more junk food than she usually did thanks to her ex-husband.

“She ate junk food with him just to show she could be the gal he wanted. She kept her figure, but it caused her to break away from her optimal body,” the source claimed to Life & Style. “But now she’s going hell for leather to get it back. She’s up every morning doing lunges and squats, sweating her butt off at the gym while lining up trips to the health spa.”

But after the two split, Lopez dedicated her time to reverting back into tip top shape again.

“It’s a tough challenge but she’s enjoying it and wants Ben to see what he’s missing while flaunting what she’s got,” the source added. “Which will help her find a new guy when she’s good and ready.”

Ben Affleck felt Jennifer Lopez was superhuman because of her diet

Affleck commented on Lopez’s diet not too long ago on The Drew Barrymore Show. During the interview, the Gigli star offered a different account of his ex-wife’s diet than the source did. Affleck confided that Lopez did eat what she wanted while they were together. But he shared that this was purely Lopez’s choice.

“Let me tell you something that’s going to upset you,” he said. “Jennifer just eats whatever she wants and whatever she wants; cookies, ice cream, everything.”

This made Affleck even more impressed with Lopez. Although she regularly indulged in an intense training regimen, Affleck was astounded she looked the way she did given her diet.

“She works out. I mean, I work out too, but I don’t magically appear to be 20 years old you know what I mean? With perfect skin and the whole thing,” he joked. “There’s no taking away the work ethic. The work ethic is real, the discipline is very real, but also the superhuman thing is real. She’s the most gorgeous woman in the world, she looks spectacular.”

In 2019, Affleck admitted that he tried a special diet created by Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend at the time Alex Rodriguez. The diet saw Rodriguez and Lopez both avoiding sugar for ten days. Although Affleck wasn’t dating Lopez at the time, he found himself inspired enough by the challenge to participate.

“It’s awful for the first couple of days because I am definitely somebody who likes bread and sugar,” Affleck once said in an interview with Today.

However, Affleck asserted that he did waver on the challenge a bit when it came to caffeine.

“It was supposed to be no caffeine [too], I cheated on the caffeine bit, I have to say,” he added. “But you know, it’s one of those things where it’s terrible and then you get through it and you’re like, ‘Oh, I feel pretty good!'”
