Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially finalized their divorce. Lopez served Affleck divorce papers after two years of marriage in August 2024. While the exes didn’t have a prenup, they worked through their assets and agreed upon the split. Now, Lopez might be ready to get back into the dating scene. And she’s allegedly taking interest in Yellowstone star Kevin Costner.

After her split from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez said she was ready to focus on herself. However, that doesn’t mean she can’t reenter the dating scene with an open mind. A source told Closer Online UK that Lopez and Costner stood close together at a Colorado bar in early 2025. According to the insider, Lopez remains “laser-focused” on Affleck amid the divorce finalization, but it’s not an automatic no for Costner.
“Kevin has a lot of the qualities she’s looking for in her next man,” the source alleged. “He’s incredibly successful and he’s someone that commands a huge amount of respect in the industry and among all their peers. Having him on her arm would make a big statement – and it doesn’t hurt that Ben has always spoken very highly of Kevin.”
The insider added that Costner has a longstanding friendship with Jennifer Garner, Affleck’s first ex-wife. This “appeals” to Lopez “because she loves the idea of dating someone they can’t help but approve of.”
Lopez and Costner have a lot of common ground. Costner and his wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, split in 2023. They finalized their divorce in February 2024.
The source noted that dating Costner would bring newfound “attention” to Lopez. “Kevin is also very much a gentleman and loves to flash the cash, so dates with him will mean private jets and the best of everything, which certainly appeals to her as well,” they alleged.
Additionally, Lopez and Costner share a “passion” for the arts and music. Costner allegedly praised Lopez for her incredible work ethic, which is “definitely the way to her heart.” Since their connection in Aspen, Costner and Lopez have allegedly “been talking pretty much every day.” They allegedly plan to get together for dinner.
Another source claims Kim Kardashian is helping Jennifer Lopez navigate the dating scene
Kim Kardashian might be helping Jennifer Lopez dive back into the dating world post-Ben Affleck divorce. A source told In Touch Weekly that Kardashian “has been a huge source of support for J.Lo ever since she split from Ben” and has “stepped up to the plate” as a “cheerleader and a stylist, too.”
“Kim wants her to start dating, and she’s nominated herself as a matchmaker,” the insider continued. “J.Lo is all for it and has agreed to let Kim set her up, on the condition that they double date.”
Previously, another source told In Touch Weekly that Lopez looked forward to having “no-strings-attached fun with hot young guys” after her divorce.
“She was very respectful and totally loyal to Ben even after he walked out on her, but now all bets are off,” the source alleged, according to Yahoo. “She’s desperate to forget about Ben and get over the anguish he’s put her through, and the best way she can do that is by having some no-strings-attached fun with hot young guy.”
