Insiders claim that Affleck and Lopez have fundamental differences in their marriage, causing a rift. While Lopez loves the spotlight, Affleck prefers a quiet life away from the media.

While fans have speculated that the couple is headed for divorce, a source told DailyMail.com that Lopez and Affleck already signed papers and are allegedly working on a joint statement regarding their separation.

“They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago but are waiting for the right time to drop them,” a source alleged. “At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn’t.”

“Honestly, in the end, they could not come to a compromise,” another source claimed. “What they had before is gone, and they have both accepted it.”

Neither Affleck nor Lopez is a stranger to public divorce. Affleck and Jennifer Garner divorced after 10 years of marriage, and Lopez has been married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are making big moves as divorce rumors loom. The couple publicly listed their Beverly Hills mansion for sale in July 2024 and are reportedly in a rush to sell it. In the midst of the house sale, Affleck stayed in Los Angeles while Lopez remained in New York.

Affleck made another serious move toward single life in July 2024, buying a $20 million house in Pacific Palisades before he and Lopez sold their mansion. He purchased the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home without Lopez. An insider told Radar Online that Lopez felt insulted by the purchase.

“Ben’s decision to move into his own home is the final insult,” the insider alleged. “J.Lo had been holding onto hope that there could be a reconciliation if they were to spend some time apart, but this is like a stab in the heart.”

Affleck closed escrow on his new place on the same day that Lopez sold her New York City penthouse for $23 million. Lopez had the four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex on and off the market for seven years before closing the deal.

A source told In Touch Weekly that Jennifer Lopez didn’t expect to spend the summer or her birthday in July without Ben Affleck. Lopez had a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons in New York to celebrate her 55th birthday. Affleck stayed in LA for the event.

“It’s just depressing that Ben couldn’t find the time or inclination to be there and support Jennifer,” an insider said. “She would have welcomed it.”

Another source said Lopez “put on a brave face” through her and Affleck’s issues. “She never expected to be spending her summer alone,” they said. “This isn’t where she thought she’d be at this point in her life.”
