Jennifer Lopez Gushes Over Her Famous Engagement Ring from Ben Affleck In New Interview
Many of us can agree that Jennifer Lopez’s engagement ring from Ben Affleck is the ring of all rings. When he proposed to the “Jenny from the Block” star back in 2002, he did so with a gorgeous 6.1-carat pink diamond ring that people continue to talk about today.
Even though Lopez is now sporting a beautiful diamond from MLB star Alex Rodriguez, even she can’t get over how stunning the $2.5 million sparkler was. In a new interview, Lopez said she “loved” getting the ring and gushed over its stunning design.

According to HollywoodLife, Lopez made the comments in an April 20 chat with Apple Music hosts Zane Lowe and Rebecca Judd.
Speaking about what she’s been doing amid the coronavirus quarantine, Lopez mentioned that she’s been watching movies with her kids: 12-year-old twins Emme and Maximilian. She noted that they have particularly enjoyed musicals featuring Barbra Streisand, who once reached out to her over the famous engagement ring.
“I met her at an Oscar party, years ago, and I was at the time engaged to Ben Affleck, and she’s really into diamonds, which I didn’t know,” Lopez explained. “He had given me a pink diamond, which got a lot of press and was whatever. I loved getting it, don’t get me wrong. So, she came up to me, and like, she’s heard of it. I’m like, ‘Oh My God.’ And she’s like, ‘Can I see your ring?’ And she asked me about the ring, but then she asked me–and I thought it was so strange–about being famous, and how I handle it.” In response, Lopez said she told Streisand: “I don’t really think about it.”

Just days before their September 2003 wedding, the couple postponed the ceremony. In a statement obtained by The Daily Mail, the pair cited the “excessive media attention” surrounding their upcoming nuptials. But by January 2004, Lopez and Affleck had called the entire thing off and broken up. The singer described their split as her “first real heartbreak” in her 2014 memoir, True Love.
Lopez also noted that she “sought comfort” in her longtime friend Marc Anthony, whom she married in June 2004. But they split in 2014.
For his part, Affleck moved on to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children and whom he divorced in 2018 after 13 years of marriage.
Even though things didn’t work out between them, Lopez and Affleck have shown that they still have love for each other.
In a February interview with The New York Times, Affleck praised Lopez and suggested that they are still friends.
“I keep in touch periodically with her and have a lot of respect for her,” he explained. He also praised her role in 2019’s Hustlers, adding: “How awesome is it that she had her biggest hit movie at 50? That’s f*cking baller.”

Lopez eventually found love with Rodriguez, whom she began dating in March 2017. For their second anniversary, Rodriguez whisked Lopez away to the Bahamas and proposed with a ring worth over $1 million, according to Money.
