However, they allegedly have serious incompatibilities. Lopez and Affleck publicly listed their mansion for sale in July 2024 after reports that Affleck now prefers to live in a rental unit alone, furthering the split rumors.
Lopez and Affleck didn’t spend the Fourth of July together. While Affleck stayed in Los Angeles, Lopez reportedly spent time in the Hamptons in New York. As of July 15, 2024, she remains in the Hamptons.
Page Six reports that Lopez stopped by A La Mode ice cream shop in East Hampton during the Fourth of July weekend. “She got a mini cone with sprinkles and was very friendly to everyone,” a source said, adding that Lopez left a generous $50 tip on her purchase.
In the past, Lopez was called out for alleged rude behavior to service industry professionals and those who worked for her. Emily Watford, a worker at an arena Lopez performed at, recalled Lopez’s inexcusable rudeness.
“What was bad was that a doorman looked at her, and apparently she hates when staff look at her,” Watford posted online, according to OK! Magazine. “So, she started yelling at her whoever about it, in front of the doorman like he wasn’t there. He said, so much for Jenny From the Block. Well, she got him fired.”

The source added that Lopez hopes to “improve her public image” and wants to “highlight” her “down-to-earth side” amid reports of a diva attitude.
“Right now, Jennifer is just focused on getting her body back into the best shape possible and her career back on track with new projects and being the best mom she can be,” the source added. “She’s also making a concerted effort to improve her public image. It’s no secret that she can be quite the diva, but she also has a very down-to-earth side and wants to highlight that.”

PR expert Lauren Beeching told The Sun that Jennifer Lopez should expect “harsher scrutiny” than Ben Affleck in the event of a divorce. Beeching noted that Lopez’s “biggest fear” would be seeing “rumors” on social media regarding her marriage.
“If there is a divorce, her image and brand might suffer negative publicity, impacting sales and partnerships,” Beeching explained. “Jennifer should focus on maintaining her image throughout this process. Jennifer could shift the narrative from her relationship status to reminding the public that she is J.Lo.”
