As someone who has done practically everything there is to do in show business from acting and producing to singing and dancing, unsurprisingly Jennifer Lopez leads a busy life with a jam-packed schedule. But she always makes time for her family, even when she’s filming a movie with her most recent, Hustlers, being no exception.

Continue reading to learn how J. Lo made time for her fiancé, Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, a former Major League Baseball player for the New York Yankees (See how they celebrated their engagement here), and her twins, Emme and Max Muñiz, whom she shares with her third husband, Marc Anthony.

‘They can call me anytime,’ J. Lo said of A-Rod and her kids

In a video promoting the release of Hustlers, a film inspired by an article written about strippers conning wealthy Wall Street clientele out of money in 2009, J. Lo walked viewers through a typical day for her.

That particular day happened to be the one where her big pole-dancing scene — her character’s entrance in Hustlers — which J. Lo spent weeks preparing for, was being filmed. She called learning to pole dance “one of the most challenging things” she’s ever done in her life.

In between discussing how she got and stayed in character on the set of Hustlers and explaining what she’s always drinking in her signature “blingy cup,” J. Lo revealed how she stayed in touch with her children, 11, and her fiancé.

The World of Dance judge welcomed her twins on Feb. 22, 2008, when she was 38 years old. She and their father went on to divorce in 2014 after a decade of marriage.

Even with a grueling film schedule — production on Hustlers lasted a total of 29 days — J. Lo explained she always made time for her family no matter what, even if she was filming a movie.

“My family—Alex and the kids—know they can call me anytime,” Lopez said before saying there’s only one instance in which she wouldn’t answer her phone.

“If I am literally in front of the cameras that is the only time I don’t take the call,” the 50-year-old said. “And then the minute they yell cut, someone tells me, ‘The kids called, Alex called.’ And I call them right back.”

“That never goes away. You’re a mom no matter what,” she added.

Here’s J. Lo filming Hustlers on location in April of 2019 where it looks like she may have been on a FaceTime call with one of her kids or A-Rod in between takes.

Jennifer Lopez wants more kids

Earlier this year, J. Lo said she wanted more kids. During a guest spot on Today’s Hoda Kotb own radio program, The Hoda Show, Kotb asked the “Medicine” singer if she wanted more kids to which she replied, “yes.”

Her answer took A-Rod by surprise — he has kids of his from a previous marriage, two girls — when Kotb shared J. Lo’s response to the question with the former baseball player during an appearance on the Today show.

Meanwhile, J. Lo and A-Rod have created a blended family together with her twins and his daughters. As we’ve said before, they seem to get along well based on J. Lo’s Instagram posts of the family doing activities together like going to baseball games, riding camels, or even sitting around in matching pajamas.
