Jennifer Lopez Said All the Men in Her Life Pursued Her in ‘Voracious’ Ways
Jennifer Lopez has been in a number of high-profile relationships with famous men, including her current — and reportedly imploding — marriage to Ben Affleck. Her partners have differed in some ways, but she said they all share one quality: they pursued her relentlessly. She shared how each of her relationships has made her feel a greater level of love than ever before.

Over the years, Lopez has dated celebrities like Affleck, Alex Rodriguez, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and Marc Anthony. She shared that she often falls for these men because of the way they pursue her.
“[They] pursued me in such a voracious way that I think, Oh my God, nobody has ever loved me like this,” she told Vanity Fair in 2011. “That’s how hard they go.”
Anthony, for example, said that the first time he ever met her, he told her, “You’re my wife and you don’t even know it.” Similarly, long before they started dating, Combs told her he was in love with her. Affleck wrote her love letters to win her over.

While the beginnings of these relationships were very romantic, Lopez said she struggled to discover what she wanted. In a discussion about “choosing men badly,” she admitted it was a constant struggle to understand what she wanted.
“I wasn’t in touch with who I was, what I wanted, what I deserved, what I needed,” she said. “It was more about the other person for me, and that’s where I made my mistakes. It wasn’t even their fault; it was me. I needed to get to where I could say I know what I want, I know what I need, I can’t let you do this, I can’t let this happen, I can’t let that happen.”
She began to tell herself that she deserved better than what she was getting out of many of these relationships.
“Even when I felt bad about myself, I always tried to keep in my mind — I’m worth more than this, I’m better than this, I’m doing something that’s not right for myself,” she said. “You deserve better, all the things you have to tell yourself to get through a tough time.”
She is reportedly headed toward divorce with Ben Affleck
Not long after the above discussion, Lopez and Anthony announced their divorce. Today, while she has yet to comment on her marriage to Affleck, many accounts claim that they are headed down the same path. Sources say that Affleck has moved into a rental home while Lopez remains in the couple’s shared house.
Recently, Lopez shared a clip of the music video for her song “Cambia el Paso” on her Instagram. The lyrics to the song, translated, include the line, “He doesn’t deserve to have her in his arms.”
Still, neither Affleck nor Lopez have confirmed the rumors that have been flying all summer.
