According to insiders, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are on the cusp of divorce. The couple has a beautiful love story, as they fell in love nearly 20 years before they finally tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, they’re having marital issues in 2024 that seem unresolvable. Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, is reportedly helping them through their problems. Here’s what a source said about Lopez staying in “constant communication” with Garner.

Ben Affleck fell in love with Jennifer Lopez before Jennifer Garner. Affleck and Lopez were engaged in 2002 but ended their engagement in 2004. Affleck married Garner in 2005 and stayed married for over 10 years. Today, they have three kids and remain friendly as co-parents.
Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Now that they are allegedly having issues in their marriage, several sources claim that Affleck seeks help and reassurance from Garner. Garner and Affleck have been spotted together, with Affleck visiting her home several times in 2024.
Lopez and Garner reportedly have a great relationship, too. A source told DailyMail.com that Garner has “helped things tremendously for Lopez and Affleck, and Lopez remains in “constant communication” with Garner.
“Jennifer is eternally grateful for her help even though she has now taken a step back,” the insider alleged. “But Jen was able to get through to her ex-husband like no one else could — even her.”
Another source told Us Weekly in July 2024 that Garner serves as an “unexpected ally” for Lopez amid Lopez’s issues with Afflekc. “She’s been helpful to J.Lo, and they’ve been relating to each other,” the source claimed. “Jennifer has been a surprising person for J.Lo to talk to.”
Jennifer Garner allegedly wanted space from her ex
Ben Affleck has allegedly often confided in Jennifer Garner during his marital struggles with Jennifer Lopez. Affleck and Garner live nearby, as Affleck now lives in a $100,000 monthly rental in Brentwood. He was frequently spotted stopping by Garner’s home to visit with her and their three kids. Additionally, he would seek advice from his ex-wife.
A source told DailyMail.com that Garner had to raise a boundary with Affleck.
“Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, ‘Sorry, figure this out yourself,'” the source explained. “It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce.”
The insider noted that Garner “opened up her home and her life” to Lopez “because she had moved on from the past. She cares about J.Lo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them.” However, “in the end, it is not Jen’s circus, not Jen’s monkeys, and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.”
A source alleged that Ben Affleck’s ex was considering allowing him to move back into her home
In June 2024, another insider told Life & Style that Jennifer Garner considered allowing Ben Affleck to move back into her place given his situation with Jennifer Lopez.
“He’s got a key to come and go as he pleases, and he’s been spending a ton of time at her place, coming over for dinners and hanging with the kids,” the insider claimed. “It’s great for his state of mind, and the kids love having him around.”
The source added that Garner has “a ton of space” in her home, “so he wouldn’t be in her way” if he moved in, “and she knows it would bring a lot of comfort to their kids.”
So far, there is no evidence that Affleck would move back in with his ex-wife.
