Jennifer Lopez Is Surprised She and Ben Affleck Got Back Together
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited after being apart for almost two decades. Lopez says she’s happy to be in a relationship with her former fiancé, but she’s surprised they found their way back to each other after all these years. Here’s what J.Lo said about their relationship.
Jennifer Lopez discusses her movie ‘Marry Me’
During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Lopez spoke about her career and relationships. She says her movie Marry Me is about love and the bumpy road some of us must travel to get there.
“I think it’s a movie about the journey to love and how we think we’re making all these mistakes along the way with these relationships,” says Lopez. “And you’re trying to figure yourself out, and you’re trying to find your way, and then one day you realize that you needed to learn all those things to get to where you belonged, where your real home is, to your real love. And that’s what the movie is about.”
Lopez says Marry Me mirrors her real life. Her character, Kat, is a pop star who discovers her soon-to-be husband cheated on her right before they’re scheduled to get married in front of a concert full of people. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, Kat decides to marry a man in the audience who is holding a sign that says, “Marry Me.” She decides to accept the proposal and she gets married in front of the audience.

Lopez also spoke to DeGeneres about reuniting with Affleck. She says it was an unexpected reunion and no one was more surprised about their reunion than them. “You never could imagine something like that could happen,” says Lopez after DeGeneres asks if she had any idea she would get back together with Affleck after 18 years. “It’s a beautiful thing,” she adds.
During an interview with the hosts of The View, Lopez talks about second chances at love. When Joy Behar asks her about this, Lopez responds, “Second chances, if you can get one, I highly recommend it.” She didn’t get into further detail, but it was clear she was referring to her rekindled romance with Affleck.

Although Affleck and Lopez are happy to be back together, they’re trying their best not to talk about the details of their relationship too much. During an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Affleck revealed very little about his personal life.
“One of the harder lessons that I have learned is that it’s not wise to share everything with the world,” Affleck tells the publication. “There are some things which are private and intimate and have meaning in terms of their intimacy by dint of the fact that they’re not shared with the rest of the world.”
Affleck says he’s also learning how to set boundaries. “I’m more comfortable just learning to find a boundary between things that I want to share and things that I don’t,” says Affleck. “I don’t know if it’s good or bad. I don’t. I know that I feel more comfortable having those healthy boundaries in my life around which, in a friendly and straightforward way, I tell you, I just don’t want to be talking about my personal relationship in the newspaper. I’m going to exercise a little restraint.”
