Jennifer Lopez is incredibly close with Ben Affleck’s kids: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. During the summer of 2024, Lopez was seen out shopping with Violet in the Hamptons. The teen recently wore a dress Lopez famously wore in 2023 while on a date with Ben. Lopez has discussed how she adores being a stepmother and loves having a blended family with her husband. Now, she’s trying to get as much “quality time” with the kids as possible before they head to school.
“Just because she’s not with Ben doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about his kids,” a source told People. “She always cared about them. She spent months looking for the perfect house for their blended family last year. Now, when she’s back in LA, she wants to spend quality time with them before school resumes, and Violet is off to college.”
In addition to spending time with Violet, Lopez went shopping with Samuel. Fin also has an incredibly close friendship with Lopez’s child, Emme Muniz, 16, which Lopez supports.
Lopez talked about her love of stepmotherhood well before she married Ben. “I love being a stepmom,” she said in 2006 before she had children of her own, according to CBS.

Jennifer Lopez allegedly hasn’t “fully accepted” that her marriage to Ben Affleck will likely end in divorce. The couple has allegedly been experiencing difficulties in their relationship for several months in 2024. Some insiders claim the couple already has their divorce papers signed.
“She’s furious,” a source told Page Six regarding Lopez’s feelings. “He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together.”
The source noted that part of the reason Lopez can’t accept divorce is because of her blended family. “There are five kids involved in this,” they added. “She knew they were going to blend families. She has not fully accepted it is over.”
Another source told Closer Weekly that the kids see Ben’s new $20 million home as a sign of the end of their parents’ marriage.
“The biggest casualty of their breakup are the kids, of course,” the source claimed. “Ben’s children love Jennifer, and her kids adore Ben. The new home is bittersweet because the kids see it as an end of their blended family. All the kids have bonded.”
All five kids allegedly want the couple to save their marriage
A source told DailyMail.com that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s five kids don’t want to see the divorce finalized.
“The kids think Jennifer and Ben are really, deeply in love, like soul mates, and they don’t want them to divorce,” the source alleged. “They want them to work it out for better or for worse, like their vows said. And they do feel that the two should continue counseling and talking it out, even if it is painful.”
The kids allegedly want to see Ben “lighten up and let stuff go,” as he can be “prickly.”
“He is a prickly one. He can be grumpy, that is true for sure; he is not a happy-go-lucky kind of dude, even if he is very intelligent and funny,” the source added. “The kids are trying to get him to lighten up and let stuff go.”
