Jennifer Lopez’s 1st Husband Knew Her Marriage to Ben Affleck Wouldn’t Last
Jennifer Lopez’s first husband, Ojani Noa, wished his ex-wife the best when she married Ben Affleck. He met Affleck in the past and hoped the couple would find happiness together. Still, he didn’t think things would end well between them. When Lopez and Affleck married in 2022, Noa predicted that it wouldn’t last.

In 2021, Lopez and Affleck reunited nearly two decades after ending their first engagement. By 2022, they were married. Noa, who married Lopez in 1997, wasn’t convinced things would end well for the couple.
“I wish her and Ben the best, but I’m not convinced it will last,” Noa told the Daily Mail in 2022. “Jen loves being in love but she’s been engaged six times. Ben is husband number four. I was husband number one and she told me I was the love of her life. When we lay in bed on our wedding night, she said we would be together forever.”
Noa predicted that Lopez’s marriage to Affleck would not be her last. He believes she likes falling in love more than maintaining relationships.
“I’m happy she has gone back to Ben but I have a feeling this won’t last,” he said. “I think she’s someone who will be married seven or eight times. I can’t see her ever settling down with one person. She pushes herself to constantly go forward in her professional life, which is why she’s had a three-decade career, but she also moves on in her private life.”

Noa met Affleck after he and Lopez split. He worked as the manager of her restaurant, Madre’s, and Affleck attended the grand opening.
“Madre’s had a grand opening,” Noa said. “She walked the red carpet with Cris but Ben was waiting round the back with a bunch of red roses.”
While Affleck was not yet dating her — she was married to her second husband, Cris Judd — he clearly admired her. He would begin dating Lopez before she finalized her divorce with Judd.
“Cris and Ben are both good guys,” Noa said. “That night I sat on the patio with Ben and he told me what an amazing woman Jen is. I said, ‘I know.’”
He offered advice to his ex-wife
Just two years into their marriage, Lopez filed for divorce. Noa said he wishes her and Affleck the best as they navigate their separation. He also offered advice to his ex as she moves forward.
“Stay single for a while, take 12 months off,” he told the Daily Mail in a separate interview. “If she meets someone new, maybe keep it private and not get married again. She has an amazing career and she’s a hard-working, beautiful woman, but when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera.”
