Dating Jennifer Lopez could be a life-changing experience for a few of her boyfriends. But one of her exes detailed just how much of a change that was when being with the star.

Lopez’s relationship history is full of A-listers. But she’s also dated a select few who weren’t big names in the entertainment industry. Dancer Cris Judd was one of Lopez’s less famous flings. Judd was a background dancer for the singer’s music video “Love Don’t Cost a Thing.” The pair would eventually marry in 2001, only for Lopez to file for divorce a year later in 2002. During their time together, Judd shared that their relationship was an unforgettable experience that briefly changed Judd’s world.

“You know it’s very tough,” Judd remembered in an interview with Us Weekly. “Your privacy is breached. You’re no longer a normal person. [Our wedding] was a circus. I think several people got arrested trying to climb up a mountain… trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace.”

Judd, however, clarified that the media attention wasn’t the cause of his break up with Lopez. It did, however, take a long time to adjust to.

“You kind of have to take it and accept it and embrace it. Once you stop fighting it, it smooths itself over. If you try to keep that privacy, it drives you nuts and that’s why people break,” Judd said.

Cris Jud feels so far removed from Jennifer Lopez nowadays

Judd clarified that he harbored no ill feelings towards Lopez. Despite the short lifespan of their marriage, Judd still wished Lopez the best when it came to her other relationships. He even offered his theories as to why Lopez seemed to have bad luck when finding the right partner.

“She looks fantastic, that goes without a doubt,” Judd said. “Anybody that would say she doesn’t look great is lying. But you know, I can’t give you the answer as to why her relationships don’t work. I think that it’s that it is work. It’s whether you want to work on it or not. Everyone has baggage and problems. It’s whether you want to deal with those problems. When you sign up to get married, you can’t just walk away.”

However, although Lopez has been known to keep in touch with a few of her exes in the past, Judd wasn’t one of them.

“Man, I’m so far removed from her,” Judd said in an interview with Too Fab. “I have, gosh, you know, I just wish her the best.”

Judd asserted that he doesn’t even watch Lopez’s films. The dancer has since moved on with his second wife Kelly A. Wolfe, who he shares a daughter with. Both of Judd’s marriages taught him a very important lesson when it came to walking down the aisle with his life partner.

“When you sign up to get married, you can’t just walk away. I mean I’m remarried and we’re going on five years,” Judd said back in 2014.

Looking back on it, Lopez felt exchanging wedding vows with Judd and her first husband Ojani Noa were for the wrong reasons.

“I’ve been married twice but I haven’t had a marriage yet,” she once said according to Yahoo.

But she clarified her statement wasn’t an indictment against Noa and Judd, both of whom she had a great deal of respect for.

“This is not to take anything away from Cris or Ojani, who are wonderful people and who I loved very much, but I think it more had to do with me,” she said.
