By 2018, Lopez was hinting that she wanted to marry Rodriguez. Rodriguez proposed to Lopez in 2019, but the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic pushed their marriage timeline far into the future. Unfortunately, their relationships couldn’t withstand the test of time. The couple officially called off their engagement in April 2021.
Rodriguez and Lopez appeared to end their engagement on good terms. He’s been dating Jaclyn Cordeiro since 2022. However, a source claims that Rodriguez disapproved of Lopez moving on so quickly from him to Affleck after their breakup.
“Alex fell apart when J .Lo ran off with Ben,” a source told In Touch Weekly, according to Yahoo. “He felt like she tossed him out with the trash when she got a better offer from Ben and it did a huge number on him. He went from planning a wedding to watching her marry someone else in what felt like the blink of an eye. It was the worst year of his life, and to make things 10 times worse, J. Lo didn’t have an ounce of empathy for him. She flaunted her romance with Ben every chance she got.”
The source added that Rodriguez is enjoying “watching” the “train wreck” of Affleck and Lopez’s marriage after several reports suggest they are headed for divorce. “He still harbors a lot of resentment towards J. Lo and feels more than justified in it,” the source claimed.

Jennifer Lopez didn’t waste any time getting engaged to Ben Affleck after her relationship with Alex Rodriguez. Lopez and Affleck got engaged in April 2022 and married in July 2022.
Rodriguez never outright commented on Lopez and Affleck’s engagement. However, the subject slyly came up during ESPN 2’s Sunday Night Baseball in April 2022, when sports broadcaster Michael Kay hinted at it on the air.
It’s a great time in sports,” Michael said, according to In Touch Weekly. “You have a new Masters champion, NBA playoffs are about to start, baseball is in full swing, people getting engaged. I mean, it’s a happy time in the world.”
Rodriguez responded by laughing. “Happiness and world peace is what we’re looking for,” he said.

Alex Rodriguez told Entertainment Tonight in August 2021 that he felt “grateful” for his time with Jennifer Lopez.
“I had five years of an incredible life and partnership, and also with my daughters, we learned so much,” he said. “And now we have the opportunity to take that and move forward and say, ‘You know what? We’re so grateful for the last five years; how do we make the next five years better because of lessons learned?’ So, I’m in a great place.”
