Jennifer Tilly Says She Was Offered a Starring Role in ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’
Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills isn’t expected to premiere until very late this year or early in 2025. Despite a premiere being months away, Bravo is already stepping up its game. The network has announced the cast for the upcoming season, which will officially include Jennifer Tilly in a friend role. Jennifer Tilly recently opened up about her promotion on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills . She revealed she was too afraid to become a main cast member.
‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill’s fans
Jennifer Tilly will appear on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a friend of the housewives when season 14 premieres. It is exactly what the starlet wanted. During an appearance on It Happened in Hollywood, Tilly said she was offered a role as a main cast member on the reality TV series, but she turned down the opportunity because she was too afraid. She said the job is absolutely scarier than the Chucky franchise she is so well known for. Tilly said she was happy to take on the “friend” role because it allows her to dip in and out as she sees fit. She should appear in several episodes.
Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will be Tilly’s first season as a friend, but it won’t be the first time she’s appeared on the series. Jennifer Tilly can also be spotted in season 13, where she appeared multiple times as a guest.
As far as Sutton Stracke was concerned, Tilly’s promotion to “friend” was a done deal a year ago. Last year, Stracke told The Wrap she believed Tilly should be upgraded to a “friend” in the series. Stracke and Tilly have been close friends for a decade.
Several stars have been asked to join the cast over the years but turned it down
Tilly isn’t the only star approached about joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills over the years. She isn’t the first star to turn down the role, either. Movie actor Gina Gershon was once asked to join the cast. She turned down the opportunity because she was too intimidated by the series.
Jennie Garth, best known for her role in Beverly Hills: 90210, also revealed that she had been called about joining the series. She ultimately decided to turn down the job, as well. For years, Garth’s friend, Tori Spelling, has been campaigning for a position on the reality TV series. Andy Cohen refuses to cast her.
Christina Applegate also passed up an opportunity to join the series. She admitted it was when the show was in its infancy. On her podcast, MeSsy, Applegate mentioned that she turned down the chance to join the cast of RHOBH a decade ago. She said she later became friends with the show’s executive producer. Applegate revealed that he admitted that, after getting to know her, casting her would have been ‘the most boring s— I’ve ever seen in my life.'”
While Applegate’s casting might have been boring, the series has been anything but. Season 14 has no official return date, but filming is underway.
