Vinny, 36, was running for the first time in the NYC Marathon. He finished the race in 4:19:44, placing 26,262nd overall.

“A few years ago I could barely run a few miles and here we are shooting for 26.2M throughout my iconic NYC streets! Training has been a bit of a rollercoaster but I have a great coach @kingparkergold2001 helping me along the way,” he shared on Instagram on Oct. 4.

The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star was running to raise money to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City.

“I’ve always used my platform and personal experiences to destigmatize anxiety and other mental health disorders,” he wrote. “That’s why I chose to raise funds for @naminyc_metro. They offer FREE mental health programs for families and individuals—anyone who needs them! Donate on my page today and support a great cause and be part of this movement with me.”

Vinny was far from the only famous face on the course on Sunday. Other celeb runners included Jennifer Connelly, Randall Park, Peter Weber, Matt James, T.J. Holmes, and Amy Robach

Vinny’s marathon celebration came a week after he was spotted attending Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s controversial Madison Square Garden campaign rally, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made disparaging comments about Puerto Ricans and other groups. The MTV personality and his family were seated in the front row at the Oct. 27 event, noted SILive.com. The Jersey Shore star also shared videos from the rally with his followers.

“The anti-establishment/anti-war/anti-inflation candidate… I don’t vote for anyone Dick Cheney votes for!” Vinny wrote in one video posted on his Instagram. The former vice president has said he supports Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.

Commenters on social media weren’t impressed that Vinny was backing Trump.

“U let down a huge amount of fans and supporters with your garbage politics this weekend,” one person commented on another of Vinny’s Instagram posts.

“Lowkey on brand for Vinny not to care about women’s rights,” another wrote.

“You are literally from a family of immigrants,” one person pointed out. (Vinny’s mother is an immigrant from Italy.) “How could you possibly support Trump. It’s so gross. You should be ashamed of yourself.”
