Viewers of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation appear to be devoted to their cast of characters. After 12 years, the show’s leads have become extended family members to fans, who have stuck with the crew through the many personal and professional changes they have experienced. The series cast appears to have the most robust fan base in the world of reality television. However, fans admit that some cast members they felt drawn to at the beginning of the series are no longer their favorites. Who are their surprising new picks?
Who are the cast members of season 5 of ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’?
The cast members that will return for season 5 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation are Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Vinny Guadagnino, Angelina Pivarnick, and Deena Cortese.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro will be a part of this season of the series. While Ortiz-Magro has been a mainstay of the series since its first episode in 2009, he stepped back from the show in May 2021 to focus on his mental health.
Ortiz-Magro continues to focus on his personal relationships. He proposed to his girlfriend Saffire Matos in June of 2021 and is very involved in co-parenting his daughter with ex-girlfriend Jenn Harley, Ariana Sky.
Others who will also be seen this season are Farley’s fiance Zach Clayton, DelVecchio’s girlfriend, Nikki Hall, Sorrentino’s wife Lauren, and Cortese’s husband, Chris. The children of the series stars may also be featured alongside their parents.
Fans admit these castmates are no longer their favorites
In a Reddit post titled “Who was everyone’s favorite(s) during original Jersey Shore vs. their favorite(s) now?” fans debated their points.
The original poster posed the following question.
“Vinny and Pauly were tied for my favorite guy during the original show, and Jenni was my favorite of the women. Now, Vinny and Jenni are my least favorites (I’m still catching up on Season 4, though), and Mike is my favorite out of all of them. So, I was just curious if anyone else had a major change in who their favorite members of the cast are?” they questioned their fellow Redditors.
Fans responded surprisingly.
“Originally: Sammi and Snooki. Now: Mike and Deena,” wrote one fan.
“OG: Snooki and Jwoww. Now, Deena and Pauly,” claimed a second Reddit user.
“Loved Snooki, Jenni, Vinny, Deena, and Pauly. HATED Mike, Ron, Angelina, and Sammi. Now I respect all of them, but Mike is by far my favorite. The OG show gives me the ‘ick’ looking back at how they used to speak and behave, but that’s why I loved the show in the first place,” remarked a third follower of the series.
“Pauly was my favorite, and I still like him. But I think I favor Mike now. Mike and his “foods.” He’s the only one that seems to even have a personality these days. Everyone else is either the same or feels like walking cardboard cutouts of their original personalities,” penned a fourth viewer.
