‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’: Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s Most Controversial Moments From the MTV Series
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has had his fair share of controversies on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. From quarrels with his roommates to shutting himself in the bathroom with house guests, Ortiz-Magro has been at the center many talked-about moments from episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. These are just a few of the most popular.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and the French girl
In Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 1, Ortiz-Magro met a French girl in the nightclub. She ended up coming back to the house, where Ortiz-Magro famously shut himself in the bathroom with her.
“It’s not worth it,” Pauly DelVecchio told him at the time. “We were just talking, bro,” Ortiz-Magro replied. “You’re interrupting my conversation with her.”
The next day, Ortiz-Magro assumed Jen Harley, the mother of his child and then-girlfriend, heard about his night, so he called her to see what she knew. As the Jersey Shore roommates point out in the episode, Ortiz-Magro unnecessarily admitted guilt in doing so. At the time, it was unclear if Harley had seen any of the videos people were allegedly tagging her in of Ortiz-Magro dancing with the French girl.
Ronnie and the ‘Jewish Barbie’ controversy in ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Season 1
In episode 8 of season 1, Angelina Pivarnick’s friend Lindsay, who the roommates’ lovingly called “Jewish Barbie,” came to visit. Lindsay and Ortiz-Magro decided to get into the hot tub together as the night started to wind down, despite what his inner voice told him.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro tells Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino he doesn’t need rehab
Ortiz-Magro’s relationship with Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino hasn’t always been the best. Things got really heated between the two during an episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation when the topic of rehab came up.
“I like to drink, I like to party,” Oritz-Magro said. “I don’t let it affect my life. You let it destroy your life,” he added, referencing “The Situation’s” former drug and alcohol abuse. “So I don’t understand why I need rehab.”
When Ortiz-Magro called Sorrentino out for his tax evasion arrest, things got even more heated. That’s when Sorrentino brought up Ortiz-Magro’s call two weeks before they left to film.
“Did you not call me and say you needed rehab?” Sorrentino asks his roommate. “I said I needed help,” Ortiz-Magro clarified. In his eyes, he had “full — maybe half — control” of his life at the time and didn’t see how rehab could help.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley’s ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Las Vegas controversy
Ortiz-Magro’s toxic relationship with Harley unfolded throughout Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. But when Harley showed up at the roommates’ suite in Las Vegas, things took a turn.
At the time, Harley was allegedly keeping their daughter, Ariana Sky, away from Ortiz-Magro. When she arrived at the Las Vegas suite to confront Ortiz-Magro, she ended up spitting in his face.
“You keep holding my kid over me,” Ortiz-Magro shouted in the episode. Later, Ortiz-Magro threatened to leave the show to find Ariana but ultimately didn’t against the advice of producers and DelVecchio.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro’s controversies become jokes on ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’
During season 2 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the roommates visited a dude ranch. At the time, tensions between Ortiz-Magro and Jenni “JWoww” Farley were at an all-time-high. He was frustrated with Farley for not giving details about her divorce from Roger Mathews, but she continued to ask questions about his relationship with Harley.
“I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but Jenni wants to push it under the rug and make like it doesn’t exist,” Ortiz-Magro told cameras. “[She] wants to tell Angelina, ‘This is what you should say and shouldn’t say’ and ‘Ronnie, this is what you should do,'” he continued. “B**** you ain’t perfect.”
Ortiz-Magro goes on to say: “I feel like people don’t tread lightly when it comes to me. All the s*** that I’ve gone through is a joke to everybody else.” Cue the roundup of serious moments involving Ortiz-Magro the roommates laughed about, including getting jumped in Secaucus, New Jersey and getting dragged by Harley’s car.
In Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 5, fans saw footage of Ortiz-Magro days before his April 2021 arrest. It’s unclear if we’ll see more of the reality star this season — tune in to MTV every Jerzday to find out.
