‘Jersey Shore’: Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola’s Audition Tape Rediscovered
Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola’s online presence has been minimal since her exit from Jersey Shore. Moreover, there’s very little out there regarding Giancola or her time on the MTV series that pre-dates 2017. For reference, her Twitter only goes back to 2017, and her Facebook doesn’t contain posts before October 2012. But fans recently uncovered a clip of her casting tape for Jersey Shore and have been reliving the “spunk” Giancola had “pre-Rahn.”

A fan on Reddit shared a clip of Giancola’s casting tape from the MTV reality series. “I’m known around town as Sammi ‘Sweetheart,’ but don’t let the looks fool you — I’m not that sweet,” she started. The reality star described herself as a “full-on guidette,” elaborating with the adjectives “classy, awesome, wild, clubby, a little bit slutty.”
“When I walk into the club, all the guidettes look and be like, ‘Damn! B****.'” Later in the clip, Giancola looks in the mirror and applies lip gloss with a message for her fellow guidettes: “Get your a** in gear because you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
“Looking good is not just something I do,” she continued. “It’s pretty much a job, an occupation. If I don’t look good, I don’t feel good. If I don’t feel good, I cannot rock it out in the club and kill it.”
Giancola also talked about her jewelry, cheetah print heels, Ed Hardy perfume, and hair extensions in her audition tape. “They give you more sex appeal,” she said of her clip-in hair, advising people to spend “at least $200 on other hair besides your own.”
“I don’t remember the last time I asked a guy out — guys come up to me,” she said, concluding: “The only thing the guys have to worry about in the house is who’s going to get to me first.”
‘Jersey Shore’ fans react to Sammi ‘Sweetheart’s casting tape
Seeing this throwback clip of Giancola brought fans back to the first season of Jersey Shore. “Once upon a time, when Sam was carefree and full of smiles,” said one fan in a comment. “Also known as pre-Ron Sammi.”
“Wish we could’ve seen more of what single Sammi had to offer,” another fan commented.
“She sounds like a female Situation,” said another Reddit user, comparing Giancola to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. “Pompous, shallow, promiscuous, slightly self-deluded yet entertaining and extremely confident.”
Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola didn’t return for ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ spinoff
After Giancola’s relationship with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro unfolded on reality TV, Giancola did not come back to the show when MTV rebooted it in 2018. Giancola addressed her absence in Jersey Shore: Family Vacation directly, saying she wanted to avoid “toxic situations” but wished her roommates the best.
“I have chosen not to join the show this season because I am at a completely different place in my life right now, focusing on my businesses and relationship,” Giancola shared on Instagram on March 30, 2018.
“I am not the same person as I was when I was 22. At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially TOXIC SITUATIONS. It was a difficult decision, as I love my roomies. I will forever be grateful to Jersey Shore and everything it has brought me.”
