‘Jersey Shore’ Star, Deena Cortese Reveals Why Her Son Can’t Wear Shoes After Negative Comments

Deena Cortese said filming ‘Jersey Shore’ after having a baby is different
Cortese gave birth to a baby boy on Jan. 5 last year. She said her son, CJ has already changed so much in her life. That includes how she feels about being on Jersey Shore.
“The show is an opportunity for my family,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s such a headspace. I want to just be with him 24/7, but at the same time this show gives him opportunities and I love being with my roommates. So it’s such a double-edged sword, you know?”
It sounds like Cortese won’t be quitting any time soon. “But at the end of the day, I know the show is good for him and I have to work too,” she said. “Luckily … I can be mostly a stay-at-home mom. It just takes me away here and there.”
She said he can’t wear shoes and needs braces
Many fans noticed CJ can usually be spotted without shoes. Cortese was getting so many negative comments that she addressed it on Instagram.
She posted a picture of a message that reads, “Bc [sic] he needs braces on his feet and he can’t wear sneakers .. we’ve been to the doctors and xrays [sic] .. it’s not that I ‘don’t’ put shoes on him .. he literally can’t get shoes on his right foot .. we are getting fitted for night braces soon..”
The message continued, “You shouldn’t call mothers out by telling them what they should do before knowing or asking for facts first I got his feet checked as soon as I saw an issue at 10 months old.”
The new mother also revealed in the Instagram caption, “CJ has Metatarsus Adductus.. and will be getting night braces to get it corrected .. he’s had it since he was born but we noticed it at 10 months when he started walking.”
Fans are now showing her support
Although Cortese made a post due to negative comments, she is getting a lot of support now. Many fans commented on the Instagram post with their own stories and shutting down haters.
“The same thing happened to me and they said that it’s ok and that kids that have this problem become good athletes! No worries,” one fan wrote. Another person commented, “Tell them to worry about their own kids.”
Another fan wrote, “You are your sons [sic] best advocate! Why can’t people be supportive of others! I can see how you dote on CJ and I know you’re an amazing momma! Keep doing what you’re doing and F the haters!”
