‘Jersey Shore’ Star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Celebrates a Major Win During VMA Weekend
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has been out of prison since September 2019. That day was exciting for Sorrentino and his wife, Lauren, as documented on the MTV reality series. But now, the couple are still celebrating major milestones two years later. This weekend marked the official end to Sorrentino’s tax evasion sentence. Here’s how the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star celebrated the end of his probation.
Mike Sorrentino’s prison sentence and probation
In October 2018, Sorrentino received an eight-month prison sentence for tax evasion. The reality TV star entered the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in January 2019. He was released on Sept. 12 the same year.
Despite his release, Sorrentino’s sentence had additional requirements, including community service hours. As of September 2021, Sorrentino is officially a free man.

In the time since his prison release, Sorrentino has achieved many things. He and his wife welcomed their son, Romeo Reign, in May 2021. “God & Family‼️” Sorrentino captioned a photo of Lauren and Romeo the same weekend his probation officially ended.
Outside of his work as a reality TV star, Sorrentino has several other pursuits. He works closely with Banyan Treatment Centers to inspire people in recovery. “The Situation” celebrated five years of sobriety in December 2020.
Sorrentino also co-hosts the Here’s the Sitch podcast and runs the Sitch Store, an online retailer offering clothes with Sorrentino’s many catchphrases. Plus, has a line of protein and fitness supplements called Brotrition.

‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ Season 5 featuring Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, ‘Snooki,’ and more
Just hours before Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 4 ended, MTV confirmed the rumors — the show will be back with season 5. We just don’t know when yet. According to MTV, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will also be part of the new season.
The Jersey Shore regulars, including Sorrentino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Deena Cortese, Vinny Guadagnino, Pauly DelVecchio, and Angelina Pivarnick, have also been actively filming for the new season. Most, if not all, of the significant others are likely to appear at some point during the new season as well.
