‘Jersey Shore’: Vinny Guadagnino Once Said He Would ‘Give up His Reality Career’
Vinny Guadagnino has not made any statements about leaving Jersey Shore: Family Vacation or pursuing a career outside of reality TV. But back in 2010, before Jersey Shore became the success it is today, Guadagnino would have considered a different career path if his LSAT scores were a bit higher.
Vinny Guadagnino has a college degree
Before he auditioned for Jersey Shore, Guadagnino was in college. He graduated from CUNY’s (The City University of New York) College of Staten Island with a 3.9 GPA (via Us Magazine). During his college career, the future reality star was a political aide for Democratic state assemblyman Michael Cusick.
After college, Guadagnino considered pursuing a law degree. “I did political science, and I was going to go to law school, so I was studying for my LSATs and hooking that up,” he told Vulture in 2010. But the casting call for Jersey Shore drastically changed Guadagnino’s career trajectory. Now, he’s a reality star, Chippendale’s stripper, and author.
Vinny Guadagnino once said he’d give up reality TV to pursue Harvard or Yale
In his 2010 interview with Vulture, Guadagnino admitted that if he got into Harvard or Yale with his LSAT scores, he might have “give[n] up on the reality-TV career.” At the time, Jersey Shore was just getting started. Guadagnino was still a kid from Staten Island who didn’t know what would become of the show or his celebrity status.
Ultimately, Guadagnino didn’t go to law school. As he explained it, his scores were “nowhere near” where they needed to be to get into Harvard or Yale.
‘Jersey Shore’ star Vinny Guadagnino never wanted to be a lawyer
Despite wanting to study law, Guadagnino admitted he never wanted to become a lawyer. “When I wanted to go to law school, I didn’t really know what lawyers did,” he explained. “I still didn’t want to be a lawyer [but] I wanted the degree.”
“I think it’s very prestigious to have a law degree,” he added. “You can go into politics, the FBI, Wall Street. I would never rule that out. But I don’t want to be a lawyer. I have a lawyer now, and I see what he does, and it’s not for me.”
Vinny Guadagnino’s projects outside of reality TV
Guadagnino may be a reality star, but he has several other ventures outside of reality TV. Since Jersey Shore debuted in 2010, Guadagnino started the I-HAV (I Have A Vision) clothing line and became a published author.
He co-wrote the 2012 book Control The Crazy: My Plan To Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama, and Maintain Inner Cool with Samantha Rose. Later, in 2019, Guadagnino published a cookbook titled The Keto Guido Cookbook: Delicious Recipes to Get Healthy and Look Great.
At this point, considering how much experience Guadagnino has in the world of reality TV, it’s unlikely he’s going anywhere. There’s been fan speculation about another season of Double Shot at Love starring Guadagnino, plus Jersey Shore: Family Vacation could potentially have future seasons, too.
