Jessa Duggar’s Latest Video Has Fans Wondering If She Just Made a Huge Announcement
Could Jessa Duggar be expecting another baby? That’s what some Counting On fans suspected after the mom of three shared a video on her Instagram of the family playing with fireworks. The video thumbnail showed a blue smoke bomb, which immediately had people asking if Jessa and her husband Ben Seewald were adding another little one to their family.
Jessa Duggar introduces her kids to fireworks
In the July 17 Instagram post, Jessa explained that she and Ben had decided to introduce their kids — Spurgeon, 4, Henry, 3, and Ivy Jane, 1 — to fireworks. It didn’t exactly go as planned, however.
Henry was so startled by the noise from one of the fireworks that he ran inside. Later, he made an effort to protect his little sister from the explosions.
“[We] selected a dozen or so options that we thought would be kid-friendly and fun, but a few of them turned out to be crazier than expected,” Jessa confessed in her post.
Some fans wonder if Jessa is pregnant
However, it wasn’t Henry’s reaction to the fireworks that got people on Jessa’s Instagram talking. Instead, they couldn’t help but notice the plume of blue smoke in the video. Some thought Jessa might have been letting people know she was pregnant with a baby boy.
“Are you having a baby boy?????” one person asked.
“I saw blue smoke and assumed it was a gender reveal,” another wrote. “Your kiddos are the cutest.”
Jessa wasn’t too surprised that some people were confused by the video. She even admitted she thought about pranking her followers with a fake gender reveal.
“Ha. Thought about just captioning this ‘It’s a boy!’” the 19 Kids and Counting alum replied to one commenter.
Jessa and Ben are considering adoption
Jessa may not have been slyly announcing a pregnancy in her Instagram post, but she has spoken about the possibility of growing her family. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, she said she and her husband were considering adoption.
“We could wait until all of our kids are grown and gone and then adopt, but I also think it’s kind of cool to have an adopted child growing up with the other kids,” Seewald said. “We’re just in a stage of, like, meeting with people who have adopted and getting advice, hearing their stories and seeing what that might look like for us.”
Jessa also said she sometimes gets “baby fever.” She added that the idea of adoption has long been in the back of her mind.
“We’re not sure if our next baby will be adopted or not, but that’s something that has weighed heavily on our hearts since before we were married,” the 25-year-old said.
