How Jessica Biel Maintains Her Marriage to Justin Timberlake Through the ‘Hard Times’
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake tied the knot in 2012 and remained strong through several controversies in their marriage. In June 2024, Timberlake was arrested for a DWI. Before that, Britney Spears alleged that he cheated on her multiple times when they dated. And in 2019, Timberlake publicly apologized after he was seen holding hands with a co-star. So, how do Biel and Timberlake avoid the chaos and maintain their relationship? Here’s what Biel said.
Jessica Biel explained how she maintains her marriage to Justin Timberlake
Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake have gone through difficult times as a couple. They started dating in 2007 and split in 2011. However, later that same year, they got back together and engaged. Biel and Timberlake tied the knot in 2012 and now have two sons.
Biel stood by Timberlake amid several difficult times in their relationship. Britney Spears’ 2023 memoir details her relationship with Timberlake. She alleged that he cheated on her several times and influenced her decision to get an abortion, as she would’ve had the baby had he wanted it. Before the memoir controversy, Timberlake was caught holding hands with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright in 2019.
Biel and Timberlake lead relatively quiet lives in Montana. In 2022, Biel opened up to Entertainment Tonight regarding how she and her *NSYNC husband keep the spark alive.
“I’ll have to give Justin the credit in this moment for this one thing he always says to me is, ‘We might be married, but we have to keep dating,'” Biel said. “And it’s so true, you know? You just have to keep making time for each other, and you have to keep making each other a priority. And do the things that you love together.”
“It’s not always easy, as we all know,” Biel continued. “But those touch point moments, I think, kind of make all the hard times palatable.”
She has ways of staying connected with him while he’s on tour
Justin Timberlake is on tour in 2024 for the first time in five years. The “Forget Tomorrow World Tour” began in April 2024 and concludes in December 2024. Jessica Biel finds ways to stay connected to her husband while he tours.
“It’s always a work in progress,” she said on The View, according to People. “It’s constantly trying to find the balance, trying to find the time when we can connect.” She added that she and Timberlake utilize Zoom and FaceTime to see and speak to each other regularly.
Biel said on Live With Kelly and Mark that Timberlake prioritizes rest when he takes breaks during his tour.
“When he has his breaks, we’ll hang out and try to do something that’s relaxing and fun. He has to relax,” she explained. “We can’t mess around.”
Jessica Biel paid tribute to Justin Timberlake a day before his DWI arrest
Justin Timberlake was arrested during the early morning hours on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Police officers stopped Timberlake at 12:30 a.m. for “failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel.” A release from the department states that “upon investigation, it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.” Timberlake now faces a DWI.
On Father’s Day 2024, Jessica Biel posted a sweet tribute to Timberlake on Instagram, including photos of Timberlake with their sons, Silas and Phineas. She has yet to comment on the DWI.
“You’re so many things to so many people,” she wrote. “But to us, you are THE ROCK. The rock we climb on, we lean against. The rock that shades us from the sun. And when we recline on you, as we always do, hopefully, our butts will keep you eternally grounded and warm. We LOVE YOU.”
