Jill Duggar Was Nowhere to Be Found in Jessa Duggar’s Video of the Duggar Family Fall Festival
While Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their 19 kids to be quite close, Jill Duggar has broken from the pack. As one of the oldest Duggar sisters, her entire life was put on the small screen via TLC shows. But she’s now coming forward and explaining why she’s stepping away from reality TV and making choices for her own family that her parents wouldn’t approve of.
It seems Jill’s skipping out on family events as well. Jessa Duggar posted a video of the Duggar family’s fall festival, and Jill didn’t appear to be in attendance.
Jill Duggar spent Thanksgiving away from the other Duggars
Jim Bob and Michelle are known for holding huge gatherings at their home, and we’re sure the global pandemic didn’t stop them in 2020. While many of their kids and grandkids likely enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast at their house, Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, skipped the celebration. And they explained their Thanksgiving plans in their own YouTube video.
“Derick’s mom actually will not be traveling … to Oklahoma to see family on Thanksgiving, so we’re gonna have them over and keep our limits under our Arkansas guidelines,” Jill explained. She and Derick then verified they would be hosting fewer than 10 people at their gathering to comply.
Aside from the extraordinary 2020 circumstances, we can’t forget that Jill and Derick ditched the other Duggars during the 2019 holiday season as well. As Derick explained, Jill need’s Jim Bob’s permission in order to visit the big family home.
Jessa Duggar posted a video of her family’s fall festival — and Jill didn’t attend
It looks like right before Thanksgiving, the Duggars had a different celebration — and it was for their fall festival. Jessa posted a video to her YouTube channel showing her and her husband, Ben Seewald, as well as their kids going over to Jim Bob and Michelle’s place. Ben would be judging a pie contest, and there were multiple stations set up around the yard where kids and adults alike could craft and hang out.
“Today, we’re having a family fall festival,” Jessa explained to the camera. “We just got here to the big house, we’re gonna set up some tables outside. [We] have kite making, pie contest, wood splitting. It’s going to be fun.”
Jessa then shared that it was Josiah and Lauren Duggar’s idea — and it truly came to life. Once nightfall hit, the Duggars all crowded into a wagon pulled by a tractor to sing Christmas carols as they were pulled around the farm property.
Jessa and Ben, Lauren and Josiah, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth, Joseph and Kendra Duggar, and all of the young Duggar kids still living with Jim Bob and Michelle were all in attendance. But Jill and Derick were not.
Jill didn’t comment on Jessa’s Instagram post about the festival
Jill and Jessa are both frequent social media users, and it’s not uncommon for them to “like” and comment on each other’s posts. It doesn’t look like Jill interacted with Jessa’s post about the fall festival, though.
A few other Duggar family members and friends of Jessa’s commented on the post, though.
“It was so so fun!!!” Joy-Anna commented. “Thanks for documenting this!”
“This was SO much fun!!!” Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar also commented, as she, Josh, and their six kids were in attendance.
We’re not sure why Jill didn’t attend the family fun, but it probably has something to do with what Derick unearthed in the past. If Derick’s correct, he and Jill need Jim Bob’s permission in order to attend any family events at the big home. And Derick’s also alluded Jim Bob doesn’t want Jill negatively influencing the little ones.
So, will Jill and Derick see the Duggars for Christmas? We’re not sure — but we’re fully expecting the couple to have their own celebration.
