Jimin of BTS Is Shorter Than You Think
Some know him as the Baby Mochi to James Corden’s Papa Mochi. Others know him as the record-breaking artist behind songs like “Serendipity” and “Filter.”
Although Jimin may be powerful and talented, he is somewhat shorter than some ARMYs imagine. Here’s what we know about this BTS performer and his secret behind his “Dionysus” performance.
Jimin is the shortest member of BTS
He may be BTS’ resident Prince Charming, but Jimin also happens to be the shortest member of the award-winning K-pop group BTS. According to K-pop Map, this performer is 173 cm, or about 5 feet 8 inches.
This isn’t exactly short in terms of average male height, though, as Young Pioneer Tours reports that Korean men are, on average, 5 feet 7 inches tall. Compared to the other BTS members, though, Jimin is somewhat small.
Oftentimes, Jimin embraces the height difference, even making jokes about it. There are even videos of him trying to stand up straighter to be as tall as V.
Jimin shared a secret about the group’s performance of ‘Dionysus’
This singer oftentimes hides his shortness, especially when it comes to live performances and music videos. For one clip, Jimin discussed the group’s choreography for “Dionysus,” a song that includes them sitting behind a table in a row.
“I have a secret. My sitting height is short so I was like this when I sat down,” Jimin said, demonstrating that he sat with his leg under his butt, so he looked like a similar height to the other BTS members. J-Hope and V laughed.
This wouldn’t be the first time Jimin’s height came into play during a music video. For the group’s recently released music video, “Dynamite,” Jimin jumped onto Jungkook’s back unexpectedly.
RM is the tallest member of this K-pop group
Age doesn’t really matter when it comes to the height of these performers. Although RM isn’t the oldest member of BTS, he is the tallest member, coming in just under 6 feet, (5 feet 11 inches, to be exact.)
There are a few BTS members who are around the same height. According to K-pop Map, singers V and Jungkook are the same height, coming in at 178 cm. One of the rappers in this K-pop group, J-Hope, is only a little bit shorter than them, as he’s reportedly 177 cm.
However, some fans speculate that these numbers may not be exact, especially because they first met the BTS members about 7 years ago. They’ve definitely grown a lot since then, and these heights reportedly reflect that..
The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
