There are seven members in BTS, but these two definitely have a very special friendship. In fact, fans noticed that RM often stands and sits next to Jin while the group is in the United States. Here’s what we know about these two K-pop idols and their relationship with one another.

RM and Jin are two BTS members

They are only seven, but they have each other and a giant fanbase behind them. BTS debuted about seven years ago and since then, they became one of the most popular boy bands in the world. Two of the oldest members of BTS are vocalist and lead visual, Jin, and rapper and the unofficial BTS translator, RM.

RM may be the leader of BTS, but Jin still plays a pretty important role within this K-pop group. In fact, some fans think that RM looks for him for comfort while overseas, noticing that the two often appear next to each other during interviews.

Some fans noticed that RM and Jin often sit and stand next to each other in America

Especially when BTS started out, RM functioned as the translator for the group, often putting his English skills to the test. This is, of course, a little challenging, even for a genius like Namjoon. As a result, some fans noticed that RM often has Jin next to him for emotional support while abroad.

During a few separate videos and interviews, fans can see RM and Jin sticking together. For one clip, a translation of RM reads, “please stay next to me.” Of course, this isn’t to say that the other BTS members aren’t supportive, but as the oldest member, Jin often acts as a kind-hearted, authoritative figure for the BTS boys.

ARMY commented on Jin’s relationship with the other BTS members

With BTS going on a few interviews to promote Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7, fans noticed the members leaning on Jin from time to time. That includes during the Carpool Karaoke segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden when Jin and Suga sat in the back row and made jokes.

“Remember how Joon said when they are in America he tends to gravitate towards Jin because he gets nervous and Jin is always there to offer comfort because he knows how hard it is on Joon to have to translate everything? Well, it’s started again,” one Twitter user noted, posting a picture of the two during a radio interview.

“We joke about Jin being childish from time to time but seeing how much the others rely on him subtly, you can tell how good of an older brother figure he is. He deserves the world,” another Twitter user wrote. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify.
