Here’s Why Jinger Duggar’s Daughter Is so Special to the Duggar Family
The Duggar family is no stranger to new babies. Michelle Duggar, the mother of the Duggar household, has had 19 kids. But over the past few years, more and more grandchildren have been popping up in the Duggar family. However, one member of the Duggar family, Jinger and Jeremy’s daughter, had an arrival that was a bit more special to the Michelle and Jim Bob than the others — here’s why.
Jinger and Jeremy were married in 2016
Jinger and Jeremy actually met through Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald. Ben knew a friend of Jeremy’s who suggested they attend a church fellowship that Jeremy was hosting. The two became good friends, and Jeremy came to visit Ben and Jessa, where he met Jinger. Over time, Jinger and Jeremy got to know each other. But Jeremy lived far away, so the two didn’t enter a courtship right away. However, Jeremy knew he wanted to be with Jinger, so he got permission from Jim Bob to court his daughter. The couple were engaged only one month later, and they wed in November 2016.
Michelle and Jim Bob currently have 12 grandchildren
Michelle and Jim Bob are only in their early 50s, but they already have a dozen grandchildren. Josh Duggar, the oldest of the family, has five children with his wife, Anna. Jessa and Ben have two little ones of their own, as well as Jill and Derick Dillard. Joy and Austin gave birth to a baby boy earlier this year, and Joe and his new wife, Kendra, followed with a baby boy of their own in June 2018. Then, in July 2018, Jinger gave birth to her first child with Jeremy; a daughter named Felicity.
Jinger was the first Duggar daughter to have a girl
Felicity Duggar holds a special place in Michelle and Jim Bob’s heart because she is the first daughter out of all the Duggar females. While Josh and Anna do have two daughters, Michelle and Jim Bob were patiently waiting for one of the Duggar daughters to have a daughter of their own. Jessa and Ben have only had boys, as well as Jill and Derick. And Joy Anna and Austin also have a boy. When Jinger found out she’d be having a girl, the Duggar family was overjoyed. (For a minute, it looked like none of the daughters would ever have a little girl.) And now Felicity, who is about five months, is extra special to her grandparents.
Out of twelve grandchildren, there are only three girls
Felicity is not only the first daughter of a Duggar daughter, but she’s also in the minority when it comes to the Duggar grandchildren. Out of a dozen kids, there are only three girls. Biologically, it should be an even six, but of course, the world doesn’t work that way. Josh and Anna’s two daughters (they also have three boys), plus Felicity, make up all of the granddaughter Duggars. There’s no word yet on who will be the next Duggar to have a baby, but the family sure could use another girl.
