Joan Vassos walked away from The Golden Bachelorette as an engaged woman. Fans of the series noted the chemistry between Vassos and her winner, Chock Chapple, early on. Now that the season has ended, that chemistry has carried over into their real life. It looks like Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are very serious about making their relationship work; while they haven’t announced a wedding date, they are taking big steps in their fledgling romance.

Joan Vassos once insisted fans wouldn’t see a quick engagement

Long before The Golden Bachelorette premiered on ABC, Joan Vassos sat down for several interviews. During the lead-up to filming, Vassos opened up about her life. She also discussed what she was looking for in a relationship and what she wasn’t looking for from the show.

During a chat with CNN, Vassos insisted she would not rush down the aisle. She insisted she was happy to leave the series engaged but had no plans to get married just months after meeting her new partner. Those statements were made in May 2024, just weeks before she flew to California to film the series. Vassos seems more interested in linking herself to a new partner now that the season is over. Perhaps her feelings changed once she met Chock Chapple.

Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are investing in their future together

Despite her early insistence that she wouldn’t marry quickly following the end of The Golden Bachelorette, she is happy to link herself, financially and legally, to Chock Chapple. While the duo haven’t set a wedding date, they are shopping for property together, which is a big commitment in its own respect.

Earlier this month, the couple took to Instagram to tell their followers they planned to make Chapple’s promise of a New York City pied-à-terre a reality. The duo has settled on a neighborhood (SoHo) but has yet to find the perfect property. Still, Vassos insisted they hope they’ll have a New York City address before the year is out.

Is a wedding next? It could be. While The Golden Bachelorette fans expressed significant concerns about Chapple when Vassos picked him, the couple appears better suited to each other than Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist, the first golden couple. We’ll have to wait and see, but a shared property is a significant milestone. It is a step that Nist and Turner never got to, despite marrying on national TV.
