Joanna Gaines Has an 80s Flashback and Fans Praise Her for Bringing Back Memories
Joanna Gaines is the popular host of shows like Magnolia Table and Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. The interior designer has an amazing following on social media where fans get glimpses of her life off of the cameras. After a lovely Christmas, Gaines shared she got rollerskates and posted a video having fun with her daughters giving her followers an 80s flashback.

It was a joyous day at the Gaines household after Christmas as Joanna shared what she got for the holiday. The celebrity cook took to Instagram to share her present — a pair of roller skates. Joanna said she was having an “80s flashback” roller skating around her farm with her kids.
“I got a pair of skates for Christmas, and minus the goats and the cattle guard and the manure, I felt like I was back in the roller rink all over again!” she posted.
In the video, fans can see Joanna dominating her roller-skating technique and playing around with her daughters who had roller blades. The clip was musicalized with “We Built This City” by Starship which gave it all the 80s feels. It wasn’t long before fans reacted and shared their thoughts on the endearing video.

Joanna Gaines loves Christmas trees
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and Joanna’s social media has been full of joy around the holidays. The media mogul recently shared that the shopping complex she runs with her husband had become a winter wonderland. Throughout the holiday season, there were different activities for the whole family to enjoy and celebrate Christmas.
The spirit of the holidays was also very apparent at the Gaineses home as Joanna set up three Christmas trees. In a recent blog post on Magnolia.com, Joanna shared the traditions she has around decorating the trees and what she most enjoys about it.
“There’s no shortage of reasons why I love Christmas trees. I would put one in every room of our house if my kids would let me,” she said. “There’s the traditions and ornaments, and the meaning they each carry, for one thing. With each new year, we get to take the best parts of every Christmas past and unpack them for Christmas present. That, in and of itself, always feels like a gift.”
Furthermore, Gaines revealed that the different trees bring out “different design personalities” and it’s something that she thoroughly enjoys.
“For as much as I anticipate the nostalgia of tradition that comes with the holidays, I also love to lean into the celebratory side of the season by dressing things up a bit with a more sophisticated and elevated style,” she continued. “Then there’s the whimsy and wonder that I can’t help but get swept up in every year, lending itself to colorful and playful details that bring out the kid in all of us.”
Gaines will be launching Magnolia Network in January 2022 when the cable channel takes over the DIY Network.
