The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s future is still unknown. While season 14 of the series aired its final episode in August 2024, Bravo has failed to offer an update on future plans for the famed installment. While rumors of a new cast linger, we can’t help but keep up with the original cast and all of the people connected to them. Joe Giudice, who was married to Teresa Giudice for many years, recently sat down for an interview and revealed how Bravo and The Real Housewives of New Jersey came to be part of his life.

Joe Giudice agreed to film ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’ so Teresa would stop bothering him

It has been many years since Joe Giudice appeared on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. His ex-wife has moved on and married someone else. He lives thousands of miles from the New Jersey home he built. While everything is very different, Joe, Teresa, and their four daughters appear healthy and happy. Joe recently opened up about how his family became public figures.

Joe appeared on All About TRH recently. During his interview, he covered everything from his current life to how he ended up on the show. During the chat, Joe revealed that he didn’t know anything about Bravo or The Real Housewives when his then-wife was approached about the series. He was not particularly interested in being on television, nor did he see how the concept would turn into the popular franchise it is today.

So, why exactly did he agree to do the show? Joe said he agreed to film the series because his then-wife, Teresa, “kept bothering him” about it. Eventually, he gave in and agreed to participate, not expecting it to change his life so completely. While the father of four seemed a bit wistful when he said, “It’s been 15 years, and now I’m deported.” Joe stopped short of saying he regretted his involvement. Still, it seems like he thinks things might have turned out differently for him had Bravo not entered his home. We’ll never know.

Where does Joe Giudice live now?

While The Real Housewives of New Jersey captured plenty of petty drama, it also documented some really serious issues, including Joe and Teresa Giudice’s legal troubles. Fans watched as Joe and Teresa’s fraud case landed them behind bars. Teresa, who was born in New Jersey, was welcomed back into the Garden State when her sentence ended. The same was not true for Joe. The former New Jersey resident was born in Italy. While he moved to New Jersey as an infant, he was not a citizen at the time of his crime. His crimes made him ineligible for citizenship, leading to his deportation.

Joe originally traveled to Italy and lived there while figuring out the next steps. In 2021, he left Italy and moved to the Bahamas to be closer to his family. The trip from New Jersey to the Bahamas is much easier and cheaper than from the United States to Italy. Joe’s family, including his mother and four daughters, regularly visit him in his new tropical home.
