Joe Jonas uses Headspace to practice mindfulness

In between performing with the Jonas Brothers and DNCE, Jonas appeared on The SPOUT Podcast. There, he discussed his daily mental health habits.

“So, I start my day with Headspace, the app, and that can be like sitting in silence or brushing my teeth,” Jonas said. “It’s just a way for me to check in with myself before I’m checking on social media or I’m texting people.”

“Because it’s so easy to look at your phone first thing in the morning and be like, oh, I have to do this work thing or I missed this call or like, something’s going on in the world that it’s easy to make sure to like, just check in with yourself before you check in with anything else,” he continued.

“I write a gratitude list of what I’m grateful for that day, and it can be short; as simple as, I’m grateful for this coffee that I’m about to have and it’s going to give me the energy for the day, or it’s like bigger and broader,” he said. “I’m grateful that I’ve got two legs that I can walk and run, and I got eyes that work that I could see the world and a voice that I can express my love for music. And so, it’s everything from the small stuff to the big stuff.”
