His application to be BTS’ bodyguard might’ve been rejected, but John Cena is still a superfan of this boy band. BTS has been considerably busy releasing new music and performing live. As a result, Cena has yet to meet these K-pop idols in person.

John Cena is an unapologetic fan of BTS

They’re one of the biggest boy bands in the world, so it makes sense that they’d have celebrity fans like Halsey, Kamala Harris, and even the wrestler and actor Cena. As a fan of rap, Cena loves the boy band both for their message of self-love and their unique music.

“I jam out to them; I jam out to them,” Cena said while visiting The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. “I love what this band has done. Because they’re this massively popular thing, and they’ve been so globally popular for so long. And then I was like, ‘OK I should probably know about this.’

“So when I started to look at BTS and listen to their music, I was originally drawn because, like, there are rappers in that crew,” he continued. “And they use — on some of their intro tracks and, like, bookend track — they use, like, sick… beats, and they actually rap. So like, ‘Yeah, I kinda like this, this is great.'”

John Cena has not met BTS in person

Although Cena has been a fan of BTS for several years, the wrestler has yet to meet his favorite K-pop group in person. He’s still open to meeting them, though, and even shared his jealousy at another celebrity getting a picture with them.

While on The Late Late Show with James Corden, January Jones shared her experience of meeting the K-pop group and taking a picture with them. As a response, Cena said, “you’re so lucky to be in that picture.”

BTS knows that John Cena is an ARMY

John Cena’s love for BTS is mutual. The K-pop group knows that Cena is a fan, oftentimes sharing that they’ve love to meet him in person.

“We want to see him. He’s a big fan of us, and we’re the big fan [of him], yeah it’s like, mutually, of course,” RM said during an interview on The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The idols mentioned that one of Cena’s favorite members is J-Hope, but he also loves “old school rap,” so RM is one of his favorites.

The “Life Goes On” music video by BTS is now available for streaming on YouTube. The K-pop group’s deluxe album, titled Be, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
