John Krasinski Was Emily Blunt’s Biggest Fan Before Meeting Her
If you’re lucky enough, you will find a partner who becomes your biggest fan in life. They will support everything you do and get a genuine thrill out of watching you achieve your wildest dreams. In the case of Hollywood couples, sometimes these romantic duos were huge fans of each other before even locking eyes. This was most certainly the case for Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, considering Blunt ended up marrying her biggest fan. It doesn’t get much sweeter than that!
How John Krasinski and Emily Blunt met
The story of how Krasinski and Blunt met is like something straight out of a romantic comedy. According to Blunt, she was at dinner with her friend, telling him how much she “enjoys being single.” Yet the moment she saw her future-husband at the restaurant, she changed her mind. Although Blunt had no idea who he was, it was an entirely different story for Krasinski, who was a huge fan of The Devil Wears Prada actress.
In an interview with Ellen, Krasinski opens up about how nervous he was when he first met her. “I was so nervous,” he confesses. “I was like, ‘Oh god, I think I’m going to fall in love with her.’ As I shook her hand I went, ‘I like you.'”
Blunt recalls Krasinski making her laugh during their first interaction, and insists she “Knew right away” that he was the only one for her.

Krasinski is such a big fan of The Devil Wears Prada that he has seen the movie over 70 times. We guess Jim secretly loves the film as much as Michael Scott!
Yet because The Office actor was such a big fan of Blunt, he was under the impression that she was way out of his league. So much so, that Krasinski purposefully tried to blow his first date with Blunt as a form of self-sabotage. In his mind, she would never go for a guy like him, so he thought he might as well screw it up before getting hurt.
What happened on their first date
So, where did Krasinski take Blunt on their first date? Probably the least romantic place he could think of: A shooting range. When most people think of first dates, they picture candlelit dinners and a string quartet. Guns usually don’t come to mind, but this is how the now-married couple spent their first date! It sounds like a storyline straight out of The Office.
Krasinski recalls the experience, telling Conan O’Brien, “I decided, ‘I’m gonna really hit the gas and bring her to a gun range.’ I think that I was so sure that I would never end up with her… that I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna blow it right away and then that way you don’t feel bad.'”
Yet apparently, the date was a success because now they not only have two children together, but they also have two movies where they co-star as husband and wife: A Quiet Place, as well as A Quiet Place 2.
