The John Wick 4 release date underwent some shifts that had fans disappointed. Originally announced in May 2019, the John Wick 4 release date was slated for May 21st, 2021. Since then, the release date has been pushed back to May 27, 2022.
The film will also be seeing a change to writers working on the script. This time, Derek Kolstad will not be writing the film.
“No, it wasn’t my decision. When you think of the contractually of these things, the third one I shared the credit with any number of people, they didn’t have to come back to me, and so they didn’t,” the writer told Collider.
“At a certain stage the studio will tell you, your creation is graduated, and you wish it well. I’m still close with Chad (Stahelski), still close with David (Leitch), and I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m excited to see.”

Meanwhile, fans are wondering what will happen in John Wick 4, especially given the events of the third film and the writer change. The third film saw Keanu Reeves purportedly betrayed Ian McShane, who plays Winston.
However, Reeves survives Winston’s bullet and a fall from the roof. He’s rescued by one of the Bowery King’s people, and the two prepare to wage war against the High Table.
It seems likely that the plot will feature the Bowery King and John Wick fighting back against the High Table — and some fans are still holding out hope for a Winston redemption. Perhaps Winston is playing the High Table still, and Wick will find the forces of The Continental at his disposal.

“KR is always ready to go and kick ass in the gym. I put together huge rep schemes and he does it without blinking an eye. There isn’t any magic to it; KR puts in the work and reaps the benefit,” Murphy added.
