The singer JoJo was a staple of early 2000s pop music, famous for her catchy-yet-emotional bops. Now, however, when people hear the words “singer” and JoJo, they often think of JoJo Siwa. Despite both being performing artists, the two JoJos have very little in common aesthetically. The former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa has become a teeny-bopper sensation, known for her wildly energetic dance moves and blindingly sparkly bows nested atop her high blonde ponytail. Siwa’s bright, cheerful image, which began with a popular YouTube channel, is wildly successful with children. The 16-year-old already has sold-out world tour shows and a Nickelodeon partnership.

Who is JoJo, and what songs is she known for?

The pop/R&B singer JoJo was very popular in the early millennium. Most well-known for her songs “Too Little Too Late” and “Leave (Get Out),” the latter song made JoJo–at age 13–the youngest solo artist to top the U.S. Billboard pop songs chart. Her most famous songs dealt with tough feelings after breakups, and yet we couldn’t stop playing them on repeat.

JoJo is still making music and performing, though her branding is probably getting more difficult with Siwa’s debut. JoJo’s newest single, “Sabotage,” featuring Alabama Rapper Chika, was released Oct. 25 of this year. The song will also be the first release of her new album.

Jojo shares hilarious meme, complete with ‘Dance Moms’ star JoJo Siwa’s iconic bows

In November, JoJo shared a version of the “Woman Yells At Cat” meme to troll JoJo Siwa’s fans who confused the two JoJos. In case you aren’t familiar, this meme involves Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Taylor Armstrong and Kyle Richards. The image, from a 2011 episode of the reality show, portrays Armstrong yelling and pointing, as she was arguing with fellow housewife Camille Grammer. But the meme-makers replaced the Beverly Hills castmate with a cat from Tumblr. The result, obviously, was hilarious, but JoJo upped the meme’s game.

“We came to see Jojo Siwa,” the left panel reads on the meme JoJo posted. The two RHOBH personalities have Jojo-Siwa-esque bows pinned to their heads (added by the meme-maker).

Instead of the cat in the right panel “replying” back to the women, JoJo’s face, looking smug, is pasted where the cat usually sits.

“It’s me b*tch,” she captioned.

Fans were living for Jojo’s hilarious tweeting.

“THE BOWS,” one gushed, along with skull emojis.

“Do you tell them to LEAVE (GET OUT?)” one Twitter user commented, a clever reference to JoJo’s most famous bop.

Another of JoJo’s fans called her the “original and one and only in my world.”

JoJo Siwa, age 16, made history at a recent concert

Given JoJo’s cool-girl, heartbreaker vibe, it’s hard to believe anyone gets her and JoJo Siwa confused.

“I’m 16 and I’m living my life exactly the way I want to,” Siwa’s pinned tweet reads. “I think having my dream career at age 16 is really cool.” Although the young star has her share of haters, she lets that all slide off her back.

“No matter what anyone says,” Siwa wrote, “you can tell me I dress young, you can call me bald, you can say I’m annoying…. nothing will change me!”

Siwa is currently touring internationally for the JoJo Dream Tour. Her concert at The O2 Arena in London, England, in early November was historic; Siwa was the youngest person to perform at the venue, ever.

“I can’t believe that today I will be the youngest person ever to perform at the O2 Arena in London!” Siwa wrote on Instagram. “I’ve always wanted to set a record like this and today is the day, it’s crazy! Thank you all for everything.”
