A Joke About BTS Was Almost Included in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Finale
It turns out the members of BTS were almost part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Collider, Danny Ramirez of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ revealed that a joke about BTS was almost included in the show’s finale.

A joke about BTS was cut from ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ finale
In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ramirez plays Joaquin Torres, an officer in the Air Force. Joaquin is friends with Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the initial person to tell Sam about the Flag Smashers.
Throughout the series, Joaquin helps Sam with his mission to stop the anti-nationalist group. When Sam takes on the mantle of Captain America, he leaves his original set of Falcon wings with Joaquin to fix, hinting that Joaquin will become the next Falcon in the MCU.
In an interview with Collider, Ramirez shared changes that were made to the finale and revealed that a joke about BTS almost made it in the show, saying:
“There’s not much that didn’t make the cut, but there’s a really funny moment in that last episode… I could see why they had to cut it based on, I think maybe licensing, who’s to say. But it’s this little ad-lib about how ‘I wish we were all more like the boy band BTS.’ Because I was like, I thought we could be more like RM. And so it was a fun little thing and there was a little dance that went with it. So yeah, that was a little bit of something where that would have been cool. But [the scene] was more about the dynamic between us and it still got to be a moment between me and Sam, which was the most important.”
The actors were able to improvise while filming ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’
In interviews about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Daniel Brühl, who plays Helmut Zemo in the MCU, frequently shared that he improvised some of his favorite moments in the show.
While speaking with Collider, Ramirez seconded this and confirmed that actors were given room to improvise scenes to show how they know their characters.
“A little bit of it. It was really how everyone interpreted the scenes and then Kari [Skogland] trusted us a lot in knowing our characters and who they were and what they wanted,” he said.
The members of BTS are fans of Marvel
While it is clear Ramirez is a fan of BTS, it is important to note that Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook of BTS are big fans of Marvel too. In a 2019 interview with 97.1 AMP Radio, the band members shared their favorite Marvel characters.
“Iron Man of course,” RM said.
“I love Thor,” J-Hope said.
J-Hope then pretended to smash Mjölnir to the ground. V pondered the question for a second before answering that Dr. Strange is his favorite Marvel character. Jimin and Suga shared their favorite character is also Iron Man, and Jimin then yelled “I love you all!”
“Spider-Man!” Jin exclaimed.
“Thanos,” Jungkook joked with a grin. He quickly changed his answer, saying, “No, no. Iron Man. Iron Man, Iron Man.”
All six episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are available to stream on Disney+.
