‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ Fans Are Questioning Whether Kate Gosselin’s Hair Is Real on Her Instagram
We remember when Jon and Kate Gosselin were two of the most popular people on reality TV. While Jon & Kate Plus 8 was short-lived, fans loved getting a glimpse of the couple’s lives as they worked together to raise their sextuplets and twins. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make things work — and Jon and Kate’s messy divorce and public spats thereafter became even more famous than their television series.
While Jon has taken some time away from the TV spotlight, it seems Kate is willing to jump back on the saddle with Kate Plus Date. And fans have noticed how much her looks have changed over the years, too. Some are even questioning if her hair is real or fake now on her Instagram.
Kate Gosselin’s hair has gone through a serious transformation over the years
If there’s anything more dramatic than Jon and Kate’s drama, it’s the changes Kate has made to her looks over the years. We remember when Kate was first on TV, her hair was long — but it didn’t take long for her to go with an ultra-short look, E! News notes. She cut her long tresses in 2009 and went for a modern pixie with a slightly spiked back. This cut was followed by some serious highlights as well, and she seemed to keep her ‘do short for quite a while, as it soon became her signature look.
The short, cropped look is now long gone, however. When she was on Dancing With the Stars in 2010, Kate was rocking a shoulder-length cut, which she then added bangs to. This was then followed by even longer hair and grown-out bangs with fewer chunky highlights. And judging from what she now looks like on her new dating show, Kate Plus Date, the famous mom of eight seems to be sticking with blonde, long hair and a few face-framing long bangs.
Fans are wondering if her hair is real or fake on her Instagram
While we may remember Kate best for short and spiky ‘do, there’s no doubt that her hair today looks the best it’s ever looked. And judging from a recent Instagram photo, it looks like she’s willing to let it get as long as possible these days.
She recently posted this photo with her dog to the ‘gram, and fans were quick to question whether her hair was actually hers. As one fan asked, “Is your hair Yours? Any way it is very pretty [sic].” And the hair question seemed to spark an entire question about Kate’s hair history. As another Instagram user added, “she literally had them [hair extension] for months to grow her hair out, if you’ve been watching since the beginning you’d understand why it was necessary.”
Surprisingly, Kate actually answered the hair question, too. She commented back, “yes! 100% mine…. they say I’ll never go bald lol [sic].” Others expressed they were shocked Kate really had this much hair given she has polycystic ovarian syndrome, too, which can affect hair thickness. Another commented, “wow really!? even with pcos your hair hasn’t been affected wish I had that luck [sic].”
Kate admits she thinks she looks way younger now than she used to
Many Kate followers have noted she seems to look younger now than she did 10 years ago, and even she seems to agree. The Huffington Post reports Kate said back in 2015, “I think when the world met me I was three days post having sextuplets, so the only place you can get from that point is younger.” She then added, “You guys saw me at my worst first, and then I just kind of reversed in front of your eyes. It was nothing amazing, it was just, when you met me, who was that person?”
Many questioned whether Kate went under the knife for her younger look, too — but the mom of eight had denied all of these rumors. Instead, she said she’s “one of the rare few who de-age.” Perhaps she’ll be using her younger looks to her advantage now that she’s looking for love on her dating show, too.
