All is well that ends well for Jonathan Rone, one of Joan Vassos’ top contenders on The Golden Bachelorette. Since his exit from the dating competition, he has found his match with Michelle Zimmermann and seems happy. That doesn’t mean he’s 100% thrilled with how things went in the series, though.

While Jonathan has found love with another lady, he still has some regrets when it comes to his journey on The Golden Bachelorette. The Iowa resident recently opened up about his main regret from his time on the show.

Jonathan Rone regrets not getting to show Joan Vassos his hometown

Jonathan Rone has been busy finding love since his elimination from The Golden Bachelorette. However, he had time to sit down and talk with the Des Moines Register. In a chat with the publication, the Iowa native seemed happy about his participation in the dating competition. Still, he noted that he still had one regret. Rone said he was disappointed that he didn’t get a chance to show Vassos his hometown and regrets being eliminated the week before her hometown visits.

Rone told the outlet that he had looked forward to showing Vassos the small town of Oakland, Iowa, and letting her and the world see him in his element. Oakland is a small community of just 1,500 people, so he admitted that Oakland might not have the same big-name appeal as Chicago or other major cities that his competition called home.

Rone made it pretty far into the competition for Joan Vassos’ heart. Vassos eliminated the father of two in week 5. He was cut at the same time as the winner of the first Impression Rose, Keith Gordon, and fan-favorite Mark Anderson. The elimination came just before Vassos visited her suitors’ hometowns. While Vassos didn’t elaborate on precisely why Rone didn’t advance to the hometowns episode, he has some thoughts.

The father of two said he didn’t know why he was eliminated for sure. Still, he did theorize that Vassos might have felt he was in a different stage of life than her. During his chat with the Des Moines Register, Rone noted that, despite being around the same age as Vassos, he has two children who are still relatively young. His daughter is a high school student, and his son is in seventh grade. Vassos’ kids are all adults, some of whom have children of their own. The four men who made it to the hometown dates all had adult children.
