Jonathan Scott Feels ‘Blessed’ to be Quarantined With Girlfriend Zooey Deschanel
Actress Zooey Deschanel and her Property Brothers boyfriend, Jonathan Scott are thriving during quarantine. While many couples struggle with so much togetherness, this celebrity duo is growing closer than ever. A recent update from Deschanel and Scott shows what true cooperation looks like, and will bring out all the feels.
How did Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott meet?
Deschanel and Scott met while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke in August 2019. They were joined by their respective siblings, Emily Deschanel from Bones, and the other twin from Property Brothers, Drew Scott. It wasn’t exactly a romantic environment, especially since Deschanel had just ended her marriage to Jacob Pechenik, although that wasn’t public knowledge yet.
Scott insisted he wasn’t looking for a relationship at the time, but once he met Deschanel, he found himself flirting to the extreme.
“I thought I was playing it cool. I didn’t think anything of it,” Scott recalled during an episode of his brother’s podcast, At Home with Linda and Drew Scott. “The producer said I was flirting so bad, so hard, they had to cut a bunch of that out.”
But the attraction was mutual. On the same podcast, Deschanel admitted that she had been flirting too. And once her marriage officially came to an end, the pair set up their first date. However, there was some confusion around the intention.
“He said, ‘Are you bringing people?’ and I was like, ‘No, just me,'” Deschanel said, “And then I was like, ‘Should I bring people? Should I call my sister?'”
Luckily, the couple was able to figure it out. They hit it off right away and have been together ever since.

Celebrities usually have very busy lives, traveling all over for jobs and interviews. However, with the quarantine guidelines in place, celebrities, just like everyone else, are stuck at home. Scott is spending his quarantine with Deschanel, and he couldn’t be happier about that. During a recent interview with The Talk, he shared his feelings about the situation.
“I’m working on the road and filming on the road, so now being here and being together all the time has been fantastic,” Scott said. But it’s not just that their schedule has slowed down. The couple really seems to enjoy spending time together.
“If I had to pick anyone on the face of the planet to be isolated with, she’s the one,” he said. “Because she’s an amazing cook; she’s a musician, so there is so much music in this house. She was playing the piano last night. We were singing together. I’m actually really blessed to be enjoying our time together. And she’s pretty wonderful.”
Zooey Deschanel could be a hairdresser
Since he couldn’t go to a stylist during quarantine, Scott had to turn to other options when his mane started to become unruly. Luckily, Deschanel was right there, and she happens to have pretty nice skills.
Scott revealed to The Talk that Deschanel helped him “cut and color” his hair while in quarantine. “She did, like, a better job than most of the salons I’ve ever been to do,” he said. As PageSix pointed out, last March, Scott was seen with salt and pepper hair. But recently, in his social media shots, it appears darker and more groomed.
Real couples know they can depend on each other when times get tough, and it looks like Scott and Deschanel have that with each other. This may have been a rebound relationship for Deschanel, but so far, it looks like it could be the real deal.
