Joseph Sikora Details the Filming Schedule for ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2
After the deadly events of the Power Book IV: Force Season 1 finale, viewers can’t wait to see Tommy Egan back in action. The series, which launched on Starz in February, has followed the Christmas-canceling menace as relocated to Chicago to build a new organization. With Dahlia in demand, Tommy quickly becomes a major player on the local drug scene, but that only invites new challenges into his life.
In an interview, Joseph Sikora opened up about his hopes for what happens next, the filming schedule for Power Book IV: Force Season 2, and when the show might return.
Joseph Sikora ‘can’t wait’ for ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2
The actor spoke with BlackFilmandTV.com after the Power Book IV: Force Season 1 finale, which culminated in Liliana’s shocking death. She was attempting to save Tommy from the Flynns when she was fatally shot by Claudia Flynn. Devastated, Tommy ended their partnership and vowed revenge against her.
Sikora said he hopes to see “more partnerships” between Tommy and Diamond Sampson now that they’re both without partners.
“I think that there will certainly be more partnerships between Diamond and Tommy because Tommy can’t do it alone,” he told the website. “Nobody can. So Tommy does need some friends or at least some people that he can rely on in some capacity if he’s going to still attempt to take over the city of Chicago.”
But first, there’s other business he wants Tommy to handle.
“I think that Tommy is going to seek revenge for Liliana, first and foremost,” Sikora continued. “And then I think that he will strategize. I think that this is going to be a very complex season. Gary Lennon, who’s the showrunner is just such a consummate artist, and crafter of story. I can’t wait to see where he goes, because I have nothing but faith and trust in his ability.”
The status of ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2
Though the show only recently went on break, season 2 appears to be in the works already.
“We start filming in a couple of weeks,” Sikora told BlackFilmandTV.com. “I can’t wait. I’m so excited to get back to work.”
While the release date for Power Book IV: Force Season 2 is still uncertain, Sikora said the hope is that the show will be back within a year.
“We’re gonna be filming for about six months and then we’re going to try to have a quick turnaround of the series,” he shared. “But because Gary [Lennon] is also an incredibly diligent worker and very capable editor I think that he will be working with the editors and hopefully that won’t be much more than a year before we have season 2.”
This would put the release date in the first quarter of 2023, but of course, it’s still too early to say for certain.
Next on Starz
While we wait, fans have other shows to keep them entertained. The next Power spinoff coming to the air is the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the prequel series about Kanan Stark. It has been confirmed for a summer of 2022 release, though the exact date has not been shared.
There’s also the return of Power Book II: Ghost, which is now filming its third season. Rumor has it that the show will air in the fall, but nothing has been confirmed so far.
