The Power Universe has continued to expand with the recently-released Power Book IV: Force. Starring Joseph Sikora, the series follows fan-favorite character Tommy Egan as he tries to overcome the loss of James “Ghost” St. Patrick.

Crushed by everything that happened in New York, Tommy leaves to start over in Chicago. His goal is to be the biggest drug dealer in the city, but in pursuit of that, he becomes at odds with two of Chicago’s biggest gangs. This set off a dangerous chain of events, but according to Sikora, that’s only a taste of what’s to come from the show.

Joseph Sikora opened up about ‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2

The latest episode of Force found Tommy at war with both The Chicago Brothers Incorporated and the Walter Flynn mob. Tragically, Liliana died in the carnage, leaving Tommy devastated.

Speaking to BlackFilmandTV.com, Sikora opened up about what he might do next.

“I think that Tommy is going to seek revenge for Liliana, first and foremost,” he said. “And then I think that he will strategize. I think that this is going to be a very complex season. Gary Lennon, who’s the showrunner is just such a consummate artist, and crafter of story. I can’t wait to see where he goes, because I have nothing but faith and trust in his ability.”

‘Power Book IV: Force’ Season 2 is reportedly about to begin filming

Although the season only recently came to an end, it seems that work on the next one is already underway.

“We start filming in a couple of weeks,” Sikora confirmed. “I can’t wait. I’m so excited to get back to work.”

While it’s still too early to pinpoint a release date for Power Book IV: Force Season 2, he believes the show could be back within a year.

“We’re gonna be filming for about six months and then we’re going to try to have a quick turnaround of the series,” he shared. “But because Gary Lennon is also an incredibly diligent worker and very capable editor I think that he will be working with the editors and hopefully that won’t be much more than a year before we have Season Two.”

So far, full casting details have not been shared. But based on where the show left off, viewers can expect the return of the Flynn family, Jenard and Diamond Sampson, JP Gibbs, D-Mac, and Kate Egan. Sikora also hinted that there could even be more crossovers.

“You never know who’s gonna pop up in the Power universe. Everything is interconnected,” he teased.

Which show is next?

In the meantime, viewers can look forward to Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2. For those who are unaware, that’s the only spinoff that doesn’t pick up after Ghost’s death in Power. Instead, it goes back in time to chronicle Kanan Stark’s foray into the drug trade and his rise before his untimely murder. The show will return in the summer of 2022, according to a trailer for the Power Universe.
