Josh Duggar’s Wife, Anna Duggar, Returns to Instagram to Interact With Her Family — But Not With the Duggars
Josh Duggar’s trial proved difficult for his wife, Anna Duggar. Anna had a consistent voice on social media, as she often shared photos and videos of her children and her life with her followers. Additionally, she often used the platform to interact with the Duggar family. But after Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict, Anna stepped away from Instagram — until now. Here’s what her return to Instagram looked like and who she interacted with.
Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, has been noticeably absent on social media since her husband’s arrest
Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, stood by Josh through his arrest and trial. In April 2021, federal agents arrested Josh on suspicion of downloading and obtaining child sexual abuse material. In December 2021, his trial resulted in a guilty verdict. Anna went with Josh to the courtroom every day of the trial.
Since April, Anna Duggar’s Instagram presence hasn’t been nearly as active as it once was. She limited the comments on her Instagram posts. She also only created one post since Josh’s arrest — and that was to announce the birth of their seventh child.
“Meet little Madyson Lily Duggar!” the post reads.
A number of Duggar family members commented on the post, too. “She is beautiful!” Jessa Duggar commented.
“She is darling!!!” Justin Duggar’s wife, Claire Spivey, also wrote.
Anna Duggar returned to social media — but not to interact with the Duggar family
Many Duggar family followers continue to wait for Anna Duggar’s response to Josh Duggar’s guilty verdict. It seems a public response may never happen, as she still has yet to comment on the trial or the charges. But she might still make her way back to social media.
According to The Sun, Anna came back to Instagram briefly, but only to comment on a post her sister created. Priscilla Waller and her husband welcomed a child on Jan. 19, 2022. Anna commented, “Congratulations!” on the post with a heart emoji. Other Duggar family members also commented on the post.
Anna still hasn’t posted anything to her own Instagram page, and she doesn’t seem to publicly interact with her in-laws online, either.
It seems Anna remains quite close with her side of the family despite everything going on with the Duggars. When Anna was seemingly absent from the Duggar family’s holiday celebrations, widespread speculation suggested she left the state of Arkansas to visit her family in Florida.
Anna’s family hasn’t spoken out about Josh’s trial. But in the past, Anna’s brother voiced his concerns about Josh. People reports Daniel Keller once posted to Facebook about how he wished Anna would leave Josh completely, and he would even pay for his sister to move away.
Josh Duggar’s trial ended in a guilty verdict, but he might get another trial
Josh Duggar’s trial resulted in a guilty verdict, and he currently awaits sentencing. But his legal team continues to fight for his freedom. According to The Sun, his team filed an appeal in the hopes of getting the case acquitted or getting a new trial completely.
Josh’s legal team claimed some of the illegal files found on Josh’s work computer were never opened and viewed, thus Josh might’ve not known what the files contained. Or, if he did know, he didn’t view them. “The jury had no evidence that Duggar personally viewed any specific portion of any of the files allegedly found on the computer,” his legal team claimed.
It’s unclear whether Josh will get another trial. In the meantime, it seems the Duggar family isn’t going to mention anything about the appeal. Anna Duggar also hasn’t said anything about the first trial or the appeal.
