Josh Duggar’s sentencing is officially over. He’ll spend 12.5 years behind bars in prison for his crimes concerning child sexual abuse material. Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna Duggar, publicly supported him through the trial and sentencing. Now, a new report from an insider suggests Anna still isn’t considering divorce an option.

When Josh Duggar was first arrested, many Duggar family followers speculated on where Anna Duggar stands. Some followers assumed she would leave her husband after the evidence that led to a guilty verdict. But she doubled down on his innocence. She remains married to him as of May 2022, and given the letter she wrote to Judge Timothy L. Brooks, there’s no indication she will leave him for his crimes.

The letter, which she wrote to the judge prior to sentencing, detailed all the reasons she loves Josh and believes he should have a light prison sentence.

“During our first few years of marriage, Joshua and I enjoyed working together at our used car lot in Springdale,” Anna explained. “There, I admired my husband’s diligence in his work and also his perspective — that people are more important than a quick sale. Joshua would often spend hours out of his day chatting with and listening to various homeless people who would pass by on the sidewalk. And many of our customers also became our friends.”

Anna Duggar will reportedly not consider ‘a new life’ with someone else, an insider says

Josh Duggar’s sentencing could bring a fresh perspective to Anna Duggar regarding her family and her future. But according to an insider, Anna’s still not considering leaving Josh.

“She’s not the type to look for or even consider starting a new life with another man, but there are plenty of upstanding, religious men in the church who would appreciate and take care of a woman like Anna,” the insider told In Touch. “There’s a lot of sympathy for her.”

Prior to sentencing, another source told In Touch that some of Anna’s relatives wanted her to divorce Josh. But it still went against her personal beliefs surrounding marriage. “Some of her relatives want her to, but it goes against everything in her being,” the source shared, also adding that divorce was a consideration Anna had at one point. “How could she not?”

Anna Duggar is unlikely to change her stance around Josh Duggar even after sentencing. But cousin Amy Duggar wants Anna to consider divorce. Amy posted an open letter to Anna on her Instagram on May 17, 2022. The letter tells Anna that she should leave, and those who have her best interest at heart won’t try to convince her to protect Josh.

“Josh has chosen how history will remember him,” Amy wrote. “By staying and supporting him you’re allowing him to choose that for you, too. And I know standing up to all of this seems impossible now, but as a Mama, your instinct to protect your kids always has to be stronger than your fear.”

“The only people you would upset by leaving are the ones willing to sacrifice you and your children’s safety to protect Josh and his secrets,” Amy continued.
